Jade Mountain & Anse Chastanet open Culinary Academy

Jade Mountain & Anse Chastanet recently initiated an in-house training program for eighteen junior members of their culinary team. The Culinary Basics Training Program, which began on July 16th 2024, aims to hone skills and inspire creativity, preparing the new chefs for leadership roles within the resort's kitchens.

Spanning eight weeks, the curriculum covers essential topics such as kitchen organization, stock and sauce preparation, and various cooking techniques, with a final practical and written evaluation scheduled for September 17th.

This hands-on program extends beyond traditional classroom learning, emphasizing technical skills, sanitation, and time management. Trainees are engaging in practical exercises, including vegetable cutting, sauce crafting, and mastering cooking methods across different food categories like poultry, pasta, and seafood.

This initiative underscores Jade Mountain & Anse Chastanet's commitment to professional development and their dedication to enhancing their culinary offerings by nurturing home-grown talent.

Upon the successful completion and evaluation of this inaugural training program, the goal is to extend this opportunity to the wider community, particularly targeting those interested in pursuing a culinary career and recent school leavers.

The expansion aims to instill a passion for the culinary arts and enhance skill sets, fostering broader community engagement and opening career opportunities in the hospitality industry.
