Antisemite of the Week:

Huda Kattan

Huda Kattan, the makeup artist behind Huda Beauty whose products are sold at Sephora, has firmly established herself as a prominent figure in the beauty space. Since October 7th, Huda has come under scrutiny for her failure to denounce Hamas' actions against innocent Israelis and has been accused of victim-blaming by sharing and liking false antisemitic posts, contributing to the propagation of Jew-hatred.

A sampling of the antisemitic content disseminated by Huda to her millions of followers in the wake of the October 7th terror attack incudes:

  • On October 13, 2023, not even a week after Hamas murdered, raped, and kidnapped innocent men, women, and children, Huda liked a post defending Hamas' kidnapping of Israeli babies because they were still living.
  • Huda has retweeted and liked multiple blatantly false posts on how well Hamas terrorists treated Israeli hostages in Gaza, including one my former 'Antisemite of the Week' Jackson Hinkle.
  • Huda has retweeted and liked multiple inaccurate posts alleging Israelis killing premature babies and torturing Palestinian children in jail. Egypt debunked the babies' claim by assisting the IDF in escorting them from Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza to Egyptian care. Furthermore, Huda's sharing of a photo depicting a Palestinian child with seemingly broken arms was proven false upon the emergence of footage showing the child both before and after the alleged incident, with no signs of broken bones.
  • One month after October 7th, without issuing any remorse or support for the Jewish community, Huda shared antisemitic blood libel, posing a question about Israel's direct involvement in the genocide of Congo. There is zero connection between Israel and any genocides in all of history.

Huda Kattan's consistent dissemination of antisemitic libel targeting the Jewish community warrants action. Given that Huda Beauty products are currently available worldwide at Sephora, it's crucial to highlight this issue and advocate for change.

Email Sephora and urge them to disassociate from the Huda brand due to Huda Kattan's promotion of antisemitic rhetoric. Kattan, and other antisemitic brand and business owners, are highlighted in our newest venture - StopDontShop.

Jodi Dean - Professor

In response to Jodi Dean's alarming statements glorifying violence against Jews, StopAntisemitism played a pivotal role in raising awareness and mobilizing pressure for accountability. These efforts have contributed to concrete actions being taken, including Hunter College relieving Jodi Dean of teaching duties and launching an investigation into her disturbing rhetoric.

Ian Golash - High School Teacher

StopAntisemitism partnered with Accuracy In Media, Adam Guillette, and The Hoffather to expose Ian Golash, a Chief Sealth High School teacher in Seattle, for denying the brutal actions of Hamas and displaying antisemitic behavior. Golash's disturbing denial of Hamas's violence, particularly towards Jewish people, is deeply concerning, especially for Jewish students and colleagues. After four months of awareness, Chief Sealth High School has finally taken action by placing Golash on leave.

Jordan Battle - Professor

StopAntisemitism has been instrumental in addressing antisemitic rhetoric, including that of adjunct professor Jordan Battle at the University of South Florida. Battle's reprehensible comments blaming Jews for the 10/7 massacre and his promotion of convicted terrorists prompted StopAntisemitism to advocate for accountability. As a result, the school is now investigating Battle's conduct and implementing measures to ensure oversight in his classes.
