CONGRATS TO AMBASSADOR PHIL IWANE

Renzetti Ambassador and Umpqua Signature Tyer, Phil Iwane, has another pattern to the Umqua catalog!

"The No Mercy Midge Parachute metamorphosed from my No Mercy Midge and this is the adult version. By tying this as a parachute on a TMC 2488 hook, with a 3x wide, 2x short shank, I was able to tie this midge as small as a size 26 and still able to see it. The advantage of this hook is that it is shorter than the standard dry fly hook and allows us to tie a smaller fly, it also has a larger gape for better hook ups and landing success.

As a parachute fly, tied to match the size and color of the naturals, the fly is visible and setting of the hook is easier as the trout takes the fly.

This fly is small, visible and deadly." -Phil Iwane

Tying the Skunk Ant

Legacy Ambassador Kelly Galloup shows us how to tie the Skunk Ant. Ants are an effective fly pattern in many places that trout swim. Always a good idea to have some in your box!
