The weather was perfect and spirits were high on Saturday as a handful of ladies from our Women Together group, along with two bouncy canines, met up at Redwood Bowl off Skyline Avenue for hiking, fresh air and free-flowing conversation. We invite all women to join our group on the Church Center App for future events.
Video Series Magnifies Church Life
In our new video series we call Piedmont Church Stories, short, shareable videos will tell your story, magnifying the little things that make a big difference.
Our second focuses on our Church Work Day that took place Saturday, June 9.
Future videos will feature church projects, outreach and fellowship events. To suggest a specific story, contact Michael Barber at Michael@PiedmontChurch.org

The Buildings and Grounds Committee is pleased to announce that our summer projects are getting underway.
We are starting by painting the entire exterior of the campus. Scaffolding is currently being built on the Main Building. The surface will be prepared for painting by power washing and fixing any dry rot. Then, paint will be applied.
The work is expected to continue through June. Then next, the Christian Education (C.E.) Building will be painted. The entire project is set to be completed by the end of July.
As part of a maintenance plan, Integrity Paint and General Contracting will power wash all vertical surfaces and do touch up painting as needed for the next five years. These efforts will ensure that our investment is maintained properly and the paint job has the longest life possible.

From Sunday, June 16 - Steve Schibsted preached, Blessed are the poor in spirit. Church member Carolyn Chun was our liturgist. Glen Hall and Stephen Main provided our music.
New Audio System In Service
Our church has received a much-needed audio system upgrade. The equipment went LIVE on Sunday. The new system provides high-quality audio throughout all of our worship programming, enhancing both music and the spoken word in our Sanctuary and on our livestream broadcast.
While it's entirely likely that all will go well, we ask for patience over the next few weeks as we learn and implement the new system.

High School Retreat Recap
By Kerry Persichitte
High school students enjoyed an unforgettable three-day, two-night retreat in the scenic town of Seaside, California. During their stay, they built lasting relationships, explored the significance of prayer and shared countless moments of joy and fun.
They cherished tender moments on the beach, on the water and in their cozy home away from home.
Throughout the retreat, they discovered the profound meaning and power of prayer, created memory boxes and wrote prayers for themselves and others. It was evident that each student experienced a powerful encounter with God.

Refugee Task Force: Canadian wing
The Refugee Task Force (RTF) continues to work with all of our past families, keeping contact and helping as we can. One family, the Fazlis, find themselves in need of help.
It's a complex story, but we are looking for a support organization (faith-based or not) in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (Toronto is the closest large city) to coordinate activities and to sponsor Fazli family members out of Afghanistan and into Canada.
If you know someone in the Hamilton or Toronto area, please ask them if they want to help. You can tell them that their efforts can really make a huge difference.

Work at Harbor House Saturday
Participate in a Project Peace workday at our local partner Harbor House this Saturday, June 22, from 9am - 12 noon.
While all ages are always welcome at Harbor House for Days of Service, we're giving an extra special invitation to young families. On that day, 100% of our projects will be kid-friendly. Projects will include things like weeding our garden, washing our vans, washing classroom walls, prepping crafts for summer day camp, etc. No heavy lifting or power tools. For anyone who stays for our Lunch and Learn afterwards, we'll offer kid-friendly choices for lunch, as well as a bounce house and time to play on our new climbing structure.
For those interested in learning more about Harbor House and the work they do to support children and families in the San Antonio neighborhood of Oakland, there will be a lunch and tour provided at 12 noon.
