Join us in celebrating 57 years of our work and progress in developing the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund (FSC/LAF) as the foremost organization serving Black farmers, landowners, and cooperatives across the South.

On Thursday, FSC/LAF will present its highest honor, our Estelle Witherspoon Lifetime Achievement Award in memory of Estelle Witherspoon. Her dedication to the advancement of her community and all humanity epitomizes the true spirit of community and cooperation.

Please note, that final event agendas will be shared with registered attendees.

16th Anulet P. Jackson Scholarship Awards

The Anulet P. Jackson Memorial Scholarship awards deserving students who demonstrate a commitment to honoring the legacy of Anulet “Pat” Jackson who spent over 30 years of her life devoted to building the cooperative movement as a staff of the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund.

Kay Doherty of Sharing, Inc. was so moved by the work of her friend, Pat Jackson, and the Federation, that she worked to establish this scholarship fund. The vast majority of funding comes from the proceeds of Sharing, Inc.’s annual Good Friday Walk. Sharing, Inc. shows its commitment and love to Pat, the Federation, and rural youth each year by contributing $5,000 annually to the scholarship fund.

The applicants awarded scholarships will be honored at the Federation's 57th Annual Meeting on Saturday, August 17th in Epes Alabama.

  • We want to encourage all those eligible to apply from across the Southern Region.
  • There is a selection process and a scholarship committee.
  • The application period closes on August 2, 2024
