Tennis Alliance Establishes a Designated Fund with CFAAC

A Designated Fund that has potential to become a Nonprofit Agency Endowment Fund for the Tennis Alliance of Anne Arundel County has been established at the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC).

The goal is for the Designated Fund to reach a balance of $25,000 within three years so CFAAC can permanently endow the fund and convert it to a Nonprofit Agency Endowment Fund to support the Tennis Alliance in perpetuity.

Louise Thomas, president of the Tennis Alliance said, "We are so excited! The fund will ensure the Tennis Alliance's long-time success so we can continue to deliver programs. The fund can grow through a variety of gifts including complex assets such as stocks, real estate, and mutual funds.”

Wheelchair Tennis Coming to Anne Arundel County!

The Tennis Alliance, in partnership with JTCC, Junior Tennis Champions Center, will be offering several introductory events for the rapidly growing sport of Wheelchair Tennis for adults and youth.

If you are interested in supporting the program or attending a training to teach, please reach out to Louise Thomas.

Lake Waterford Park in Pasadena is designated by the County as an adaptive park. The five-court indoor tennis bubble planned for the park is a welcome opportunity to offer Wheelchair Tennis in our county.

Lake Waterford Park Tennis Bubble Update

The Department of Public Works is in the process of contracting with a design firm for the Lake Waterford Park Improvement project, which plans for five tennis courts, four pickleball courts, and enclosure. Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks expects that the design and permitting process will last through calendar 2024 with actual construction starting in 2025.

The Tennis Alliance is working with the County to plan for Adaptive Tennis programming including Wheelchair Tennis. Lake Waterford Park is designated by the County as an adaptive park.
