GHHN Awards $65,250 Statewide for the 2024 NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Grant Program:

Preservation Supplies and Site Assessments



The NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Grant Program now offers three opportunities for collecting institutions in New York State: Conservation Treatment Grants, Preservation Supplies Grants, and Site Assessment Grants.


The 2024 NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Grant Program: Preservation Supplies and 

Site Assessment Grants are administered by Greater Hudson Heritage Network, in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. Additional funding from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation supports projects from Long Island and New York City.



For the 2024 grant year, 110 grant applications were received from institutions from 37 counties in New York State, requesting an aggregate of $76,805 in grant support. In all, 92 organizational awards totaling $65,250 for Preservation Supplies and Site Assessments were recommended for funding. The Conservation Grant Program: Preservation Supplies and Site Assessment Grant awards range from $223 to $1,000. 


Of the 110 applicant institutions, 73 had a general operating budget under $300,000; 14 had budgets between $300,000 and $500,000, 4 had budgets over $501,000 but below $1 million; 17 organizations had budgets between $1 million and $6 million; and 2 had budgets above $6 million. Organizational operating budgets of the Conservation Grant Program: Preservation Supplies and Site Assessment Grant applicants span a stunning range from $2,000 to over $20 million.
