October News

Dear Reader

Following closely after last month's record $215,000 2023 Community Grants announcement to 39 incredible LGBTQ+ nonprofits across Texas, we are honored to announce our first 2023 QTCF award of $10,000 to the Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project (STYEP). This grant is made possible by our QTCF 2023 fund, a collaboration with Equality Texas Foundation.

STYEP is a project of the Campaign for Southern Equality bringing assistance to Texas families of trans and gender diverse youth. This lifesaving and life-affirming initiative provides information, resources and emergency grants for families responding to the passage of SB14 which restricts healthcare for transgender youth.

Explore STYEP's resource guide for Texas families with trans youth and please share with your networks.

Our $10,000 award will fund Texas families of trans and gender diverse youth applying for direct financial assistance in their need to access competent healthcare out of state. Due to their application model, Campaign for Southern Equality is a uniquely suited nonprofit capable of directing aid to families without having to issue an IRS 1099 for up to $500.

With our partner Equality Texas Foundation, fundraising continues for additional QTCF awards this year to organizations adding and retooling services and increasing security due to 2023 legislation in Texas passed with the assistance of well organized misinformation campaigns.

Your donation today increases this year's fund which will make additional grants to organizations and communities struggling to meet the needs of those most impacted by unfair, politically motivated legislation.
