Ms. Bank was the director of the Tucson Waldorf School (TWS) for 14 years before relocating back to the East Coast. Her children attended TWS from playgroup through Grade 8 and are now young adults living in DC. Ms. Bank is currently the Head of School at St. John’s Episcopal School in Olney, Maryland. Looking to reconnect with Waldorf education, she joined the WWS Trustees Council this past September, bringing her experience and expertise to WWS.
As the newly appointed Head of School/Faculty Chair, Ms. Bank will assume responsibility for the school's day-to-day financial, operational, and faculty leadership. She will also play a crucial role in developing and overseeing the implementation of short and long-term strategic goals. Reporting directly to the Trustees Council, Ms. Bank’s leadership comes at an important time as we look to increase enrollment and execute our strategic plan.
Throughout the search process, Ms. Bank’s experience and references have consistently demonstrated her as an engaged, empathetic, and capable leader. Her ability to listen and lead with calm and respect for all those she works with is a testament to the immense skillset she brings to WWS. We are confident that under her leadership, WWS will continue to flourish and grow as a vibrant Waldorf institution.
I want to thank all those who have dedicated their time and thoughtfulness to this process - appointing a new Head of School/Faculty Chair is one of the most important things we do as a Trustees Council. I also want to thank Lelia True, who has guided us these past few years as the Head of School/Faculty Chair. As we bid her farewell this summer, we will certainly miss her vast institutional knowledge and skill.
