We are excited to announce two changes to our clergy staff: the Rev. Brin Bon has been promoted to Priest for Formation, and the Rev. Jonathan McManus-Dail has accepted our call to be Priest for Children, Youth & Families.

In the Rev. Brin Bon’s two years at Good Shepherd, she has been instrumental in strengthening our ministries with young people and their families. Her excitement for ministry is contagious, and the growth of our 9:15am Sunday service for families and children reflects that. Brin has a heart for helping those around her become better followers of Jesus.

In this new role, Brin will help our parish focus on forming all of us into better followers of Jesus. Brin will work to conceive and implement formation efforts, including helping to integrate formation into other parish ministries and helping to equip and empower parishioners to lead formation. Brin will begin this new position on July 1.

The Rev. Jonathan McManus-Dail has accepted our call to be our next Priest for Children, Youth & Families. Jonathan loves ministry with young people, and his fit for this position was obvious to us. He connects easily with youth and children, and he has helped build successful ministries with young people.

Jonathan comes to us from St. Julian of Norwich Episcopal Church in Round Rock, where he has led ministry with youth and young adults. Jonathan and his wife Lizzie have a two-year-old daughter and another baby on the way this fall. Jonathan’s first Sunday with us will be July 7.

Please help us congratulate Brin and welcome Jonathan.
Peace,
John Pitts, Senior Warden

Dear People of Good Shepherd,

The last two years here at Good Shepherd have been some of the most engaging, enjoyable, and spiritually rich ministry of my 10 years as a priest. As the Priest for Children, Youth, & Families, I have been able to serve a vibrant and growing part of the parish through worship, education, and formation programs especially for our youngest members. And what fun it has been! I am excited to continue watching the growth of these ministries as Jonathan brings his gifts of leadership, insight, and experience to this area.

I am equally excited to expand the scope of my ministry to include all ages and stages of life as the Priest for Formation. Together with our amazing team of clergy, staff and lay leaders, I look forward to creating new opportunities for faith formation while continuing to deepen the experiences of those who are already committed to "growing into the full stature of Christ" (Ephesians 4).

This is a special time in the life of Good Shepherd, and I believe God is calling us to be faithful witnesses to Christ and his love as much as ever. As a community whose presence and influence in Austin has the ability to change people's lives for the better, there is much good work to do. It is my privilege to continue this good work alongside you as we plumb the spiritual depths and reach for God's love together.

Faithfully,
Brin+
Dear People of Good Shepherd,

I am so excited to be joining you very soon! I can’t wait to meet you and begin sharing life and ministry with you.

I am thrilled to begin ministry, especially, with our families, youth, and children! I love working with kids and teens, offering them a supportive space to connect with each other and explore their relationship with God. My wonderful spouse, the Rev. Lizzie McManus-Dail, and I are also parents of a toddler and are expecting a baby in early October. So, I understand firsthand the blessings and challenges of being the parent of little ones in our fast-paced, rapidly changing world. I look forward to using my gifts, lending my support, and sharing my experience with young families at Good Shepherd who are also seeking to anchor their family life in faith.

You are all in my prayers and I can’t wait to meet you in early July!

Greetings in Christ,
Jonathan+
