As you may know, our Executive Director, Sally Graham, is retiring. We are pleased to announce that GoochlandCares has selected our new CEO, Andrea Ahonen, following an extensive search process led by the Board of Directors. Andrea emerged as the top candidate among over 60 applicants after rigorous vetting and personal interviews.

Andrea brings nearly two decades of dedicated service in the nonprofit health industry, having held increasingly senior positions at esteemed organizations such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and World Pediatric Project. A graduate of the University of Richmond, Andrea's expertise spans executive leadership, communications, fundraising, and human resources. Beyond her professional achievements, she is actively involved in civic organizations like REAL LIFE and in her local church. Andrea and her husband Sam are proud parents to four children.

Andrea will begin at the end of August, learning about GoochlandCares directly from Sally and the staff collaboratively during this transition. We are confident that her leadership and passion for improving community services will greatly benefit GoochlandCares for years to come.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Andrea when you see her in the community. We look forward to seeing all that GoochlandCares will accomplish together in the next chapter.
