We are pleased to announce that David R. Okrent has recently been nominated and appointed as the Managing Director of the Board of Managers the Suffolk County Bar Association Charity Foundation.
Suffolk County Bar Association Charity Foundation charitables purposes include the improvement of citizenship and the administration of justice, to increase the understanding and promotion of the law through the award of scholarships and grants and to establish charitable programs seeking to enhance the well-being of individuals, especially children, within Suffolk County. The Suffolk County Bar Association itself is one of the largest voluntary bar associations in the state. It is a private organization representing lawyers of Suffolk County.
For over a century, the Suffolk County Bar Association and the legal profession it represents have assisted the community through charitable services, pro bono representation, scholarship programs and legal education.
The Suffolk County Bar Association recognizes its mission as: "The purposes and objects for which the Association is established shall be cultivating the science of jurisprudence, promoting reforms in the law, facilitating the administration of justice, elevating the standard of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession and cherishing the spirit of brotherhood among the members thereof."
