All of us at Anixter Center wish you and yours a prosperous 2017.

Our New Year is off to a great start. We continue to support our clients as they increase their independence and enjoy becoming part of their communities. Whether it is finding a job, learning to use public transportation or investigating a local park or library, our clients are on the move and learning every day.

Their successes are your successes. Take a moment to look at our new annual report (www.Anixter.org) and see for yourself how critical your support is. The stories will amaze you.

Late last fall, we conducted an employee survey and I'm proud to say that 97 percent of respondents love the work they do. That dedication certainly shows every day.

When we ask for your support, I recognize the timing might not always be the best for you. Please consider donating monthly. Smaller regular gifts are often more manageable than one large gift. As a special thank you to anyone signing up to give monthly, I or Dan Summins, VP of Development, will take you and a guest to lunch at our own Uncle Bill's Cafe. The Cafe is used as an employment training program for our clients. You'll meet some of our clients and staff and, most important, see your dollars in action.

Anixter Center folks, like Wendy will learn basic computer skills as well as how to conduct a job search and apply for jobs online assisted by Anixter Center's Employment Training & Placement Program. Meet Anixter Center Board Member Sean Murphy

Sean Murphy is the founder and President of SP Murphy, Inc., a program, project and construction management company. With over 25 years of experience in engineering and construction and operations management, Sean has held multiple roles in both the private and public sectors, including working with the City of Chicago's Department of Procurement Services and Department of Aviation as well as CPS.

Sean holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and has an MBA. He is committed to providing clients with exceptional services and has been involved in some of the largest projects and programs in Chicago over the last 15 years, including the World Gateway Program and O'Hare Modernization Program. He also managed the Capital Program for CPS as well as the successful School Closing Program at the Public Building Commission of Chicago in 2013.

One of Sean's strengths is the ability to develop and manage teams capable of delivering on complex assignments while being highly responsive and engaging with his clients. He believes that the key to success is building a great team, providing the team with clear direction and expectations and measuring performance against those expectations.

Sean is bringing those same skills and his passion for helping his community to the Anixter Center board. Join us in welcoming Sean to the Anixter Center family.
