Only a couple items to mention this week.

Anime Boston is happening this weekend so I'm hoping I'll have lots of juicy new license announcements to pass on next week.

John from Media Blasters confirmed for me this morning that the I Don't Like My Big Brother At All BLURAY is complete and will begin shipping from their replicator today. We should have it in stock around the middle of next week.

Shout Factory told us that their upcoming release of the A Place Further Than the Universe Complete Series BLURAY (Collectors Edition) is going to get pushed out a couple weeks from April 22nd to May 14th. They cited replicator delays, which in our business is always double speak for 'we're a little short on cash this month'... ;-)

After working with the folks at Apple engineering for a couple of weeks, our mail server is now 100% authenticated so we have finally resolved the problem with getting email messages through to icloud users. Yeah!! I suppose this is the price we pay for running our own mail server, and I was very happy to send out a couple dozen delayed messages earlier this week. :-)

NEWSLETTER DOMAIN CHANGE

Just a quick reminder, due to Google and Yahoo!'s new message authentication guidelines for email senders we have made a few tweeks to our newsletter as to avoid our messages going to spam as much as possible.

STORE STUFF - WHAT'S NEW @ RACS THIS WEEK!!

Only one new Anime arrival in this week - we got the standard edition of the Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time Super Extra (Season 2) BLURAY in stock a couple of weeks early from Sentai.

As I mentioned above, the I Don't Like My Big Brother At All BLURAY is inbound and also Anime Limited's release of To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts Collectors Edition BLURAY and the Rozen Maiden Complete Collection BLURAY from Sentai are on the way and should be hitting the dock next week.

We added Sentai's June release schedule for pre-order this week. Upcoming releases include Is the Order a Rabbit? (Season 1) BLURAY (Re-Release) (Jun 4), My Love Story!! BLURAY (Re-Release) (Jun 11), and the Oshi No Ko BLURAY (Jun 25). There is also a special edition Steelbook version of Oshi No Ko planned that will be streeting on July 23rd, so we added that for pre-order as well. The steelbook comes with a third disc featuring 100 minutes of behind-the-scenes content. Pre-orders for it are already heavy and I suspect there is a good chance that it might be allocated or sold out by the street date. Be sure to get your pre-order in for this one early! :-)

We got in several batches of new manga this week! New arrivals include Marriage Toxin #2, Sakamoto Days #11, How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift #14, Please Go Home, Miss Akutsu! #5, World's End Harem Fantasia #11, Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun #7 and way too many more to list!

And finally, we were right about Berserk 1997 - it was entirely sold out at release. Fortunately we were able to lay our hands on several hundred copies, and even though they have been moving outta here super fast this week, we still have about 40 units left from the first batch. If you haven't gotten your copy yet, you still have a chance to order one from the RACS store before they sell out! Limit 1 copy per customer please!

The film fans who refuse to surrender to streaming: ‘One day you’ll barter bread for our DVDs’. Streaming was supposed to kill physical media, and has come very close. The DVD and Blu-ray market fell from $4.7bn in revenue in 2017 to barely $1.5bn in 2022. In September, Netflix ended its movie-by-mail service. Best Buy has removed physical media from its brick-and-mortar stores, and Target and Walmart may follow. Some new films may never be released physically at all. Yet a counterrevolution has been gathering. Some film fans never gave up physical media: they’ve spent years quietly buying thrift-store discs, discarded by the many US households that no longer have DVD or Blu-ray players, and waiting for their chance to rise again. Other fans, frustrated by streaming’s limitations, have recently rediscovered physical media and trickled to join its rear-guard army. More here...

The official website for the Dragon Ball franchise announced on Friday that Saudi Arabia-based Qiddiya Investment Company will construct the world's first-ever Dragon Ball theme park. The company streamed a concept video for the park, which will be a part of its "Qiddiya" giga project. The park will span 500,000 square meters and feature over 30 rides and attractions. The company is planning a 70 meter-high Shenron roller coaster as the highlight of the park. The park will feature seven different areas that "recreate various iconic locales from the original series, such as Kame House, Capsule Corporation, and Beerus's Planet" and also feature themed hotels and restaurants.
