Good afternoon everyone!

Another short but very busy week here at RACS HQ! The first snow of the season is coming in tomorrow, so we'll be off after work today to fight for that last loaf of bread and gallon of milk at the grocery store. I've got a ton of tuna fish made up in the fridge and if I don't have enough bread to make tuna samiches to eat while watching Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon, someone is going to be very put out! ;-)

ODDS AND ENDS

We're supposed to get our first major snow storm of the year starting Saturday morning. Snow and wintry mix all day Saturday and we may end up with 6-10 inches all together. I don't think this storm will impact operations here next week, but it may slow down parcel deliveries over the affected areas for a couple of days, so just something to keep in mind.

Discotek, our favorite Anime company over the holidays ;-), has quietly been letting some of their back catalog go out of print. Right now I think it's safe to assume that all of their older DVD and BD/DVD combo releases will no longer be repressed. It also appears that over Christmas they have been making spot decisions on whether or not to reprint certain older BluRay titles that might have sold out during the holiday rush. This seems more ad-hock than planned, but it does leave us with several BD titles that have been recently moved into the OOP category. Some of these recently OOP BluRay titles include:

Not quite a comprehensive list either. Discotek is a very boutique market player in the Anime business, but has still amassed a fairly large release catalog over the past few years. Maintaining a large catalog of niche titles is expensive, so I suspect letting older releases fall out of print will become more routine as they sell out in distribution.

Speaking of Discotek, all of their Dec 26th releases have finally shipped to us and are inbound. We should have them in stock mid-next week, and we will start shipping pre-orders as soon as they hit the dock. Thanks for your patience on this, I hope they get the January stuff out well before the scheduled street date.

And finally, it was so busy this week we never had a chance to take our Barrage of Bargains holiday sale down, so I extended it one more weekend. Still a little time to get some last call bargains. I went ahead and extended the 5% THANKYOU coupon for a couple more days as well.

STORE STUFF - WHAT'S NEW @ RACS THIS WEEK!!

Some highly awaited new Anime releases came into stock early this week. We got in our copies of the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV (Season 4) Part 2 BLURAY, the Tsurune The Movie BLURAY, and The Tunnel to Summer the Exit of Goodbyes BLURAY from Sentai. We also got in the One Piece Season 13 Part 4 DVD/BD Combo Set (Uncut) (Eps # 819-830) from Crunchymation. Pre-orders for all of these are shipping out today. We have a ton of pre-orders for Is It Wrong 4/2 to get out, but the crew is working on them diligently and I think they will all be headed your way before close of business.

We kicked off the new year with a nice shipment of new manga and lite novels. Notable new arrivals include Dandadan #6, Fly Me to the Moon #21, I'm Not a Succubus! #4, Komi Can't Communicate #28, Plus-Sized Elf #4 (Rerelease), Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie #15 and many more!

And finally, it appears that the My Dress Up Darling BLURAY/DVD (Limited Edition) is now sold out in distribution so whatever is still out in the channel is probably all that is left available. I think the word is already out too, because there have been quite a few on orders this past week. As of this morning we have 54 of them left in the warehouse here, so we're in good shape if anyone still hasn't gotten a copy - we've got them in stock for now.

IN THE NEWS

Best Buy has begun removing all physical media and displays from their stores. This includes Blu-ray and DVDs of television shows and movies, though the stores are reportedly going to continue to sell physical video games both online and in store. Additional details about the removal of physical media from Best Buys stores was not available. The removal of physical media from Best Buy stores comes after it was confirmed last October that the retailer was planning to phase out selling physical media both in store and online.

The Hokkoku Shimbun newspaper reported on Tuesday that the Go Nagai Wonderland Museum in Wajima City has burned down after a 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Ishikawa Prefecture on Monday. Kazushige Kobayashi, a photographer for the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, visited the Asaichi Street location of this museum dedicated to the acclaimed manga creator, and took a photo of the fire's aftermath just before noon (10:00 p.m. EST) on Tuesday.

Despite recruiting assistance from other Familias, the Hestia Familia's mission to the lowest level of the Dungeon they have ever been to is perched on the brink of disaster.
