Eighteen NWSA high school theatre students take to the stage in the season’s final show 365 Days / 365 Plays, directed by NWSA alum Luis Roberto Herrera. The director curated a selection of a month's worth of the collection as a full-length evening of ensemble-based theatre. “This show is more than just a play, it’s something of an experience. Not only have I had to work as director, but also as playwright in piecing the performance together by working with the cast and creative team to build this evening of theatre. It’s been hard, and I think the ride can be worth it,” said Herrera.
On November 13, 2002, the incomparable Suzan-Lori Parks got an idea to write a play every day for a year. She began that very day, finishing one year later. The result is an extraordinary testament to artistic commitment. This collection of 365 impeccably crafted pieces, each with its own distinctive characters and dramatic power, is a complete work by an artist responding to her world, each day. Parks is one of the American theatre’s most wily and innovative writers, and her "stark but poetic language and fiercely idiosyncratic images transform her work into something haunting and marvelous."
