God of Our Life:

Flood the path with light, run our eyes to where the skies are full of promise; tune our hearts to brave music; give us the sense of comradeship with heroes and saints of every age; and so quicken our spirits that we may be able to encourage the souls of all who journey with us on the road to life, to your honor and glory.

Okra Abbey Awarded $35,000 by PW Thank Offering

During the Thanksgiving season each year, the Presbyterian Women’s Creative Ministries Offering Committee organizes a denomination-wide "Thank Offering". Funds are allocated to health ministries throughout the world and "new creative ideas for mission". SCAPC members donated $1,268 to the Thank Offering in November 2022. We are thrilled to announce that among this year's recipients was Okra Abbey, one of our community ministry partners here in New Orleans! Specifically their portion of the Thank Offering is funding a full solar power system that provides outlets for an irrigation system, power tools, community refrigerator, and phone recharging.

Our Next Century

During worship this past Sunday, Parke Ellis announced the Session's formation of a Strategic Planning Committee. The plan will map out the next 5-6 years in the life of our church. There will be many chances for you to offer your input including open listening sessions, the first of which will take place following 10:30 worship on August 20 in the Land Building. Watch Parke's address to the congregation here at the link below.
