Chicken Wing Creator Expands Franchise Empire with its First Location in South Carolina

Myrtle Beach, SC July 2, 2024—Anchor Bar, “Home of the Original Buffalo Chicken Wing” since 1964, is expanding its world-famous franchise with a new location here in Myrtle Beach, SC at 6401 N. Kings Hwy.  Anchor Bar serves more than 15 million lbs. of chicken wings every year across its locations, with Americans consuming more chicken on average than anywhere else in the world – the number one protein consumed in the United States. 

Bob Kroon, Franchise Owner of this location has 40+ years of accounting and business management experience.  This is his first venture into the restaurant industry as an operator. Mr. Kroon is originally from Western NY (Jamestown) and now a Myrtle Beach area resident. "I had a dream of opening my own business and looked at numerous opportunities before settling on this Anchor Bar Franchise. I could not be happier with the results" says Bob Kroon.

The restaurant features a sports bar and separate family dining area, both with views of televisions from every angle with 64 large flat screens and a video wall. This 9,000 sq. ft. space seats up to 620 guests and has indoor and patio seating. Outfitted with décor including memorabilia, pictures of celebrities, and awards. All of Anchor Bar’s classic fare, including the original signature wings and sauces, boneless wings, chicken tenders, beef on weck, pizza, salads, burgers and signature sandwiches are served.
