ICMYI: This past Wednesday, the City ended negotiations related to the Potomac Yard Entertainment District opportunity. As the City shared in its statement that day:


"We are resolute in our commitment to ensure the City’s future is determined by our community. We will continue to pursue economic opportunities that improve our quality of life and economic health. Alexandria welcomes commercial investment, and our residents, businesses, and stakeholders deserve the chance to make educated decisions about how we continue to welcome new businesses to our city."

Planning Commission Meeting


Items of interest include a Work Session to discuss the Sign Ordinance Update; and Master Plan Amendment, Rezoning and CDD approvals for Vulcan Site Redevelopment - 701 S Van Dorn Street and 698 Burnside Place to construct six multi-unit residential buildings with 208 total units, a 256-room hotel with ground floor retail, and 31 townhouse and 88 stacked townhouse (multi-unit residential) units.

City of Alexandria 275th Anniversary Kickoff Event


Get ready to join the excitement as the City of Alexandria kicks off its 275th Anniversary celebration! Mayor Justin Wilson will lead the festivities with an official proclamation and a performance from the City of Alexandria Pipes and Drums. Visitors can also explore historical exhibits, enjoy music from the Community Little Big Band, and attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the "Buried Ships of Robinson Landing" exhibit.
