An Evening with Kim Michele Richardson
In partnership with the Friends of South Carolina Libraries and Blue Bicycle Books of Charleston, the nonprofit Pat Conroy Literary Center will host an evening with bestselling historical novelist Kim Michele Richardson, author The Book Woman's Daughter, in conversation with Holland Perryman and Jonathan Haupt. This special event will be presented virtually on Zoom and live-streamed on the Conroy Center's Facebook page. Signed copies of The Book Woman's Daughter and The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek are available through Blue Bicycle Books.

Grant Applications Due May 31st
The Friends of South Carolina Libraries (FOSCL) offers grants in amounts up to $250 for support of library Friends organizations in SC. The grants are intended to assist friends groups with an emphasis on the following purposes:
 
Expenses related to the formation/incorporation of a group
Expenses related to obtaining 501(c) 3 tax-exempt status for a group
Expenses related to the revitalization of a “dormant” group
Expenses related to the initiation of new or innovative programs/technology designed to foster local library support which are principally sponsored by a library friends group
 
Friends Groups submitting applications must be a current member of FOSCL. 
Program proposals for United for Libraries Virtual: Trustees – Friends – Foundations from Aug. 9-11, the third annual virtual conference for library Trustees, Friends, Foundations, and staff who work with them, will be accepted through May 4. Learn more

This interactive three-day virtual event will feature expert speakers on current topics facing library Trustees, Friends, Foundations, and staff who work with them.
