IN THIS ISSUE: News, Upcoming Events, Kudos and Opportunities

Dear CICA,

Happy New Year and welcome to the February 2024 issue of the Amplify WomenTM Newsletter!

As we welcome a new year and leave 2023 behind us, I reflect upon successes within the captive industry. When I moved to Vermont 20 years ago, never could I imagine what an impact it had on a global scale. But let’s face it, at the time I had no idea what captive insurance even was.

I am also struck by the vast accomplishments of women in the industry who have made efforts to not only reshape the landscape of captive insurance but also set a new standard for excellence and leadership in the industry. We as women have broken barriers and challenged norms in a historically male-dominated industry. Our contributions have been multifaceted – from leading multinational captive insurance companies, to innovations in risk management, through regulatory reform advocation. We are not just participants but continue to be leaders and role models for the next generation to come. This makes me proud to work alongside so many of these women through Amplify Women.

In looking at the year ahead I am excited about the upcoming conference schedule, specifically CICA’s annual conference in March. I am reminded of why I enjoy working within this industry so much. I look forward to connecting with colleagues, meeting new ones, and engaging in the various sessions CICA has to offer, especially those featuring members of Amplify Women. Over the past year, Amplify Women has grown much momentum, with frequent new members dedicating themselves to fostering education, networking, and supporting women.

This newsletter is more than just a collection of articles, it’s a celebration of the strides made by women like me in the captive insurance industry. It is a recognition of our hard work and leadership that have contributed significantly to the industry’s growth and success. We hope that these stories will inspire, inform, and invigorate all our readers as we continue to navigate the exciting and ever-evolving world of captive insurance.

If you are interested in becoming a member of CICA’s NEXTGen & Amplify Women, please reach out! I look forward to seeing everyone at CICA in March!
