Ammonia Operator 1 is where you should begin your training into industrial refrigeration concepts. This class will ensure or help give you confidence to operate and understand an ammonia refrigeration system. Even though our focus is using ammonia as a refrigerant, everything this course entails is true to refrigeration. This class is available in person and online.  We suggest that each candidate for this class have at least 6 months experience in your company’s in-house training program and has spent time doing rounds and basic maintenance needs to the ammonia refrigeration system. Even if the candidate has 20 years’ experience, but lacks the paperwork to back up that knowledge, we suggest they begin at this level. We call this certification R-717 Operator 1.
