It's Americana Sunday

This Sunday, the musicians of Piedmont Church will present another of our celebrated Americana services. Drawing on the talents of Mitch Polzak, Grammy-award winner Mads Tolling, and your beloved vocal soloists, we’ll be presenting a toe-tapping array of old gospel favorites, mountain melodies and bluegrass

Choir Sunday is June 2

On Sunday, June 2 at 10am, the Chancel Choir and orchestra will present Gabriel Fauré’s incomparably beautiful Requiem. Composed in 1888, this exquisite piece of music broke new ground as Fauré explored the subject of death and the afterlife from a radically new point view: as rest and light, rather than judgment and fear. Also on the program that day will be two new orchestral offerings by Stephen Main in keeping with the overall theme. Our spring Choir Sunday always culminates the choir’s work through the year, and you won’t want to miss this deeply moving performance.

STEWARDSHIP MESSAGE

Campaign Ends with $956k Committed

The Stewardship Committee and Board of Trustees want to express our immense appreciation to each of you who committed financial gifts to our 2023-2024 Stewardship Giving Campaign.

The campaign has ended and due to your tremendous generosity, we received 186 gift commitments raising $956,283, achieving 80% of our $1.2M campaign goal. This is an 8% year-over-year increase from the $883,447 received from our 2022-2023 campaign. The average commitment gift this campaign year is $5,141. That is 20% higher than the 2022-2023 average gift amount of $4,289.

Thank you so much for your continued spiritual and financial support of our church.

To ensure a balanced operating budget for the year 2023-2024, the gap between monies raised and our $1.2M goal will be filled once again through a reserves transfer. Our five-year vision team is currently working on a plan to align our operating expenses with revenue so we can achieve long-term financial sustainability.

In the meantime, if you would like to make a gift to help close this year's campaign gap, which will help reduce the amount being transferred from our reserves, please contact Toni in the church office. Your financial gifts, of any amount, are needed and always greatly welcomed. - Steven Thorne, Stewardship Chair
