AmCham Scholarship Awards Celebrated
Last week, 60 deserving scholars representing 10 universities received certificates from the 21st AmCham Scholarship Program during an Awards Ceremony held in the presence of their proud families. The winners were selected among hundreds of applicants based on their skills, knowledge and behaviors in Communication, Responsibility, Problem-Solving and Leadership. The Atoha Institute and IPP Travel Retail sponsored the program, which was supported by the AmCham Scholar Alumni Group, the AmCham HR Committee, and the Vietnam Human Resources Association.

AAP Virtual Door Knock on AI
You are welcome to register for the next event in the AmChams of Asia Pacific (AAP) Virtual Doork Knock series, where expert speakers will provide an update on the legislation and regulation being contemplated for Artificial Intelligence: What is Congress concerned about? How might it legislate? And how might countries in Asia do the same based on past experience in the digital economy? The speakers will also discuss what we should be watching in Asia in terms of how governments here have regulated digital trade and commerce.
The speakers will be Bruce Mehlman, Partner at Mehlman Consulting, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Technology Policy under President George W. Bush, and a Board Member for the Center for Democracy & Technology; Dr Deborah Elms, Executive Director and Founder of the Asian Trade Centre; and Steven Okun, AAP Chair and Senior Advisor of McLarty Associates.

Call for recommendations to reform business regulations from the Government Office
On June 7, 2023, Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son signed the document No. 4186/VPCP- KSTT regarding providing difficulties and problems, proposals and recommendations to reform business regulations. The Government Office requested AmCham Vietnam to compile all recommendations to reform business regulations that are no longer appropriate or create barriers to production and business activities, as required in Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP on the program to reduce and simplify regulations related to business activities in the period of 2020-2025.
Please provide us with your difficulties, problems, recommendations and proposals for business regulation reform before June 20, 2023. Thank you!

Message for U.S. Citizens: Consular Services Event in Da Nang, June 15, 2023
Residents of Da Nang, save yourself the trip to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi! Representatives from the American Citizen Services unit of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City will be in Da Nang at Six on Six Café, 64 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Bac My An, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang on Thursday, June 15th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm for an Acceptance Event. We will accept passport applications and perform notarial services.
Please note that these services are by appointment only and customers must pay with exact change. We will only be accepting passport applications and providing notarial services during this event. Consular Report of Birth Abroad applicants should make an appointment in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi here (https://vn.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/birth/schedule-your-crba-appointment/).
