The results of the Alumni Engagement and Outreach Survey are in! Here are the highlights:

Communications

• 77% say you get your information about SUNY Empire via email.
• 24% say you get it from Connections magazine.
• 13% of you report getting information from social media.

Events

• 39% of you want to see more webinars.
• 38% of you would like to see more networking events.
• 37% want to see more educational events.
• 33% asked for more tours and museum outings.

• Nearly 93% of you rated the overall content as good to excellent. 
• 94% rated the design as good to excellent.
• 95% rated the writing as good to excellent.

Did you know August is National Make-A-Will Month?

By creating your will this month, you can get peace of mind for the future, protect your family, and even support the future of Empire State University. 

Nearly 67% of American adults don't have a will. We’re sharing a free, online will-writing tool as an alumni benefit, so 100% of the SUNY Empire community can protect the people and causes they love. 

Alumni Day at the Races!

SUNY Empire alumni and friends gathered at the Saratoga Race Course on August 1st for an afternoon of fun. To see more upcoming events, visit: sunyempire.edu/alumni/get-involved/events/.

Tickets Still Available for "The Lion King"

It's not too late to get tickets to Disney’s “The Lion King” at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The special event is being hosted by the Empire State University’s Veteran and Military Resource Center and will include SUNY Empire students.

Date: Saturday, August 17

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Saratoga Performing Arts Center

Tickets are $39 per person for lawn seats. The event will also feature door prizes. Attendees are allowed to bring up to three guests. Seating is limited.

Help Our Students Access Textbooks!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Textbooks for Students, a crowdfunding campaign that will benefit our students by reducing the cost of textbooks. We've raised more than $3,000 already and are more than halfway to our goal.

Community Conversation: Ask the Experts About Literacy

Join SUNY Empire faculty members Joanne Kramer, Tom Mackey, and Karis Jones for a panel discussion on literacy, moderated by Naomi Leconte-Lucio ’23, an ELA teacher in the Master of Arts in Teaching, English program.

Date: Wednesday, August 21

Time:11 a.m. to noon

The program will begin with introductions from our expert panel and will be shaped by participant questions around literacy today and in the future.

NY Jets v. Broncos

Join SUNY Empire alumni and friends as the NY Jets take on the Denver Broncos. Seating will be limited. The game will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 29 at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. More details to come!
