THANK YOU to all who volunteered for the
2020 LAHSA Homelessness Count!
|
For the second year in a row, volunteers from Skid Row Housing Trust and Homeboy Industries joined forces to count our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Chinatown.
|
Spectrum News 1 shares the story of the LAHSA Homelessness Count from Cory's perspective as he hits the streets.
Cory, an advocate and Skid Row Housing Trust resident, is using his previous experience with homelessness to make sure other people are counted - because every person matters. We will share the results of the 2020 LAHSA Homelessness Count once they are completed.

Skid Row
Carnival of Love
|
On Saturday, January 25th, Skid Row Housing Trust teamed up with LA Christian Health Centers (LACHC) at the Carnival of Love on Skid Row! It was a time to embrace our neighbors experiencing homelessness by providing a fun, dignified, and purposeful day connecting people with food, clothes, and health and housing resources.
LACHC is our partner at the future Six Four Nine Lofts, a 55-apartment building providing affordable, permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals. LACHC will operate the 25,000 square foot health clinic on the first three floors of the building, welcoming all of the Skid Row community to get primary care, mental health support, and other services such as linkages to housing. Our long-term partner, Piece-by-Piece was there as well with their magnificent work!
The Wayfarer's Foundation annual Skid Row Carnival of Love, is the largest event of its kind in the United States serving our unhoused neighbors in, and around, downtown Los Angeles. We were honored to be a part of the event this year!

"What can I do if someone needs housing?"
|
We get this question a lot! And we have some answers.
Skid Row Housing Trust receives referrals for future residents from the Coordinated Entry System and the Department of Health. However, people experiencing homelessness first need to be registered in order to receive housing and services and get a referral.
You can help!
- Call 2-1-1 or visit 211la.org to find out what the hotline is for your nearest outreach team and how you can request help for someone experiencing homelessness.
- Contact LAHSA's (Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority) hotline at 213.225.6581 Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also make an outreach request via LAHSA's online portal here.
- If you or someone you know would like more information on how to obtain housing with Skid Row Housing Trust, please reach out to our leasing office and Housing Navigation Team at 213.623.9730 or find our more information here.
Thank you for your concern and for helping our neighbors on the streets
move closer to securing a permanent home!
