If you fell in love with one of our amazing shelter doggies but just can't take in another pet....you can sponsor their care here until they find a forever home! It's about $60 a month for food and monthly medicine to keep them healthy and happy. It helps us and it also helps the dog!
If you are a business we will post the dog on our social media with your logo showing your sponsored dog!

A Letter from our President
Aloha friends!
May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii. The lei is meant to be a non-verbal representation of aloha, the Hawaiian word for love, peace, friendship, passion, mercy and compassion. How does this relate to a dog rescue? At our rescue, we have love, passion, mercy and compassion for all our dogs. We also love the friendships created every day with our dog-loving community. We love what we do and are blessed to be able to be here for the dogs and our community. May 20th may be National Dog Rescue Day, but that's every day at Aloha Ilio Rescue. Aloha is in our name and that's our passion.

SPOTLIGHT ON ADOPTABLE DOGS...
All three of these dogs entered our rescue in 2022. They were adopted; however, by no fault of their own, they found their way back to us. They are looking for another new family to call their own..... forever!
| |
|
Finn
- Male 13 Months Old
- 30 lbs.
- Pitt Mix
- Brown & White
- Eager to Learn
| | |
| |
Finn was originally a puppy at Casa Ilio. However, he is now back with us hoping we find him another good family. He is a cutie and likes most other dogs. He's at that perfect age where he's fully grown and eager to learn new commands and tricks to fit right in with your family.
|
Mama Ginger
- Female
- 8 Years Old
- 45 lbs.
- Black & White
- Pure Poi Gal
- High 5!
| |
| | |
Mama Ginger was originally at Casa Ilio as the mama of 9 puppies (the Go Go litter) who was found in the forest. She was adopted; however, due to unforeseen reasons, she's back with us looking for a new family. She has a really nice personality after her initial shyness, not an excessive barker and she's house trained. She gives High-5s too! There's still plenty of life in this gal who is waiting patiently for her fur-ever home.
|
Flap Jack
- Male
- 4 Years Old
- 54 lbs.
- Brown & White
- Pit/Foxhound Mix
- Snuggler
| | |
Flap Jack was featured before, but because he's another repeat from 2022, we didn't want to leave him out. He was returned, also to no fault of his own. Flap Jack loves other dogs, he's not hyper and loves to snuggle. He is also housetrained. He is shy at first, but he needs to earn your trust, which is understandable considering all of his confusion. We are confused too as to why he hasn't found his fur-ever home. He's a big lover boy!

The Role of a Foster with Aloha Ilio Rescue...
We are always looking for fosters. We rely on our fosters because it's best for the dogs and also, we are able to intake more dogs than our facility can accommodate. You can pick the puppies or dog(s) you want to foster. You may even be a "foster fail" by adopting your foster. Here are some things to consider...
The Rescue's responsibility:
- Pays for all medical bills, including spaying and neutering
- Pays for monthly medications and vaccinations
- Supplies puppy pads, puppy formula and puppy food to puppy fosters
- Appointments to meet your foster are at our facility (not your home)
- Going away? We will babysit the dog until your return
The Foster's responsibility:
- Take the dog to vet appointments, adoption appointments and events
- Train the dog with anything lacking in their skills - i.e., potty training, sit and leash walking
- Provide dog food if you're able
- Take lots of pictures!
- Update the rescue on the dog's personality, skills and traits so we may enhance the dog's profile in our system and social media pages
- We do ask for a three month commitment so that there's reasonable time for us to advertise the dog and show the dog to potential adopters
Contact us if you're interested in becoming a foster. We have a foster application on our website. We also have a foster FaceBook group called "AIR Fosters" to help support and share with our active fosters.
