In-Person Worship Safety Protocols

Your Safety is Essential to Us

We are so blessed by the enthusiastic and loving presence of in-person worshippers each Sunday! Because your safety is of the utmost importance to us, the Return to Church Task Force wishes to lovingly reiterate basic safety protocols that each of us must undertake in the Sanctuary, especially in light of the virulent Delta and Omicron variants:

  • Wear your masks at ALL times over your nose and mouth during the worship experience
  • Maintain social distancing--meaning no hugs, kisses, etc
  • Use hand sanitizer frequently and wash your hands thoroughly

Blessings to each of you, and we look forward to sharing in worship with you safely!

Virtual Ministry Schedule

We invite you to join us throughout the week for virtual ministry experiences! We jalso have a new dial-in number for Sunday worship - (866) 904-0572 and new Prayer Call number! Download our Virtual Ministry Schedule and share with family and friends!

Teleconference Sunday School

Classes for all ages!

Join us every Sunday for a deeper study of The Word through Teleconference Sunday School!

Worship Through Giving

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing
Malachi 3:10 NRSV

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7 ESV

We invite you to join us in worshipping our Lord through giving and to regularly support Allen Temple financially so that the ministry of the church thrives all the more in the midst of difficult days.

Your consistent giving of tithes and offering can be done in the following ways:

  • Online at Allen-Temple.org/Giving
  • Via Text to Give (Send a text to 510-737-0078 with the numerical dollar amount (i.e., $25)
  • Via Mail to Allen Temple Baptist Church, 8501 International Boulevard, Oakland CA 94621 ATTENTION: Trustee Ministry

Caution and Safety

COVID is Still With Us!

SARS CoV2 continues to be prevalent! Most of us know people who have had COVID and it is a blessing that most of them have not been too ill or required hospitalization. Nevertheless, the virus is prevalent so should continue to be diligent. Vaccines continue to be very helpful against COVID leading to hospitalization and death, but this means a minimum of three shots. If you get COVID, now there are medicines that are effective in treating the illness, such as Paxlovid. Out of an abundance of caution, the Return to Church Task Force is continues to encourages everyone to:

  1. Get vaccinated and boosted
  2. Wear good masks, N95 or KN 95
  3. If you are feeling sick, even slightly, please stay at home
  4. Minimize hugging and hand shaking during the Welcome
  5. Follow the Ushers' instructions both for entering and exiting the sanctuary.

Healthy Temple Tips

from the Health Education Ministry

National Sickle Cell Awareness Month

Sickle cell anemia is an inherited blood disorder that causes blood cells to become hard, sticky, and shaped like a sickle or "C." As a result, while traveling through the blood vessels, cells may become stuck and block the flow of blood throughout the body. This may cause a variety of symptoms and medical problems, including bacterial infections, pain, tissue damage, stroke, and anemia. Blocked blood flow also can cause damage to the spleen, kidneys, and liver.

Normal red blood cells are smooth, donut-shaped and contain hemoglobin A, which helps red blood cells transport oxygen through the blood vessels to the body. People with sickle cell anemia have red blood cells that contain hemoglobin S, an abnormal type of hemoglobin that causes the sickle shape change.

Every September, people living with sickle cell disease, their caregivers, advocates, healthcare providers, and others come together to bring awareness to the disease and dispel the myths and stigmas surrounding it. The month also brings attention to the ongoing need for research, better care practices, new treatments, and an eventual cure.

A Message from

Bethsaida Counseling Center

The Children Are Our Future

The Children Are Our Future. And because of this, we want to support them to be healthy – mind, body, and spirit. Just as many adults have been struggling with managing their emotions and feelings so have our young people. Many have felt overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed trying to find the words to express how they are feeling. Not knowing how to define or explain their feelings and emotions, several have attempted to cope with them in not so positive ways.

Parents/caregivers, during this season of spring breaks and throughout the rest of this year, take some time to check in with your young person to make sure he/she is alright.
