Finding Good People is More Difficult Than Ever

The most successful human resources (HR) departments are able to strike a balance between people, policies, programs and progress to navigate business needs alongside workforce wants. After all, workforce trends have the ability to dynamically influence experiences for employees and employers alike.

Recruitment was a major challenge last year and this year seems to be following a similar suit. In fact, 65% of human resource (HR) leaders expect recruitment to be just as difficult or more difficult than last year. But what are the biggest threats to talent acquisition? Topping the list is a shortage of qualified candidates.

We surveyed more than 1,000 leaders in HR decision-making roles to evaluate people strategies as well as plans to enhance processes and opportunities to extend impact.

Highlights include:

  • Top threats to talent acquisition
  • Opportunities to improve retention
  • How to get a competitive advantage
  • HR tech investments for 2024
  • The role of analytics in shaping business decisions
  • AI’s current and future adoption in HR
  • Extending impact through partnerships

Have you seen this man?

Have you seen this man? He's a member of FEI St. Louis and was recently part of a team from Spire spotted on the New York Stock Exchange. Rumor has it that brokers felt he and his team were a "gas" when they rang the opening bell!

Seriously, congratulate FEI St. Louis' Steve Rasche and the folks at Spire on this well-deserved moment of recognition for one of St. Louis' most powerful companies.

Spire (formerly Laclede Gas Light Company) joined the Dow Jones Industrial Average in 1889, and they were one of the original twelve listed companies known as the "Dow Dozen." GE and Spire are the only organizations of the original "Dow Dozen" still listed in the NYSE.

CFO Friendship Village STL

"FEI provides contacts across various industries who are likely encountering some of the same issues you are dealing with in your work."

-Roger Wetter, Corporate Controller

Each event seems to have its own unique purpose, which can include updates on the latest financial topics, learning about what is happening in St. Louis, discussing common issues among financial peers, or just enjoying entertaining topics which result in great networking opportunities.”
