Family Storytime

11 AM at the Children & Youth Library

An energetic story and song time for children ages 0 to 5 and their families. Today we will be reading stories and singing songs about friendship and kindness.


Today our storytime will be outside in the courtyard just to the west of the Children's Library, weather permitting.

Eureka! - The Science of Collaboration

4 PM at the Children & Youth Library

Join us for an engineering challenge as we try to make solar panels, motors, gears, and wheels work All Together Now!

Kidz Cinema - The BFG (2016)

12 PM at the Children & Youth Library

A lonely orphan befriends a "big friendly giant," and together the pair explore a magical world and collect dreams. Later, they try to warn the Queen of England about the threat posed by the other giants, who, unlike the vegetarian BFG, eat children.

Chess Club

4 PM at the Children & Youth Library

Learn how to play chess, or improve your game! Every Tuesday, we will have a lesson on developing your tactics and strategy. All ages are welcome.

Open Makerspace Time

3-6 PM at the Children & Youth Library

Kids and adults ages 6 and up are invited to explore the OFPL Makerspace equipment, which currently includes a 3D printer, sewing machine, button, maker, mini kiln, Cricut cutting machine, and many engineering and STEM kits.

Teen Cooking Class with Walter Cloud: Kid Friendly Mac 'n' Cheese

2 PM at the Children & Youth Library

*Please note that this event has been changed from what is listed on our event calendar. It has been switched with the event on June 22.


Teens and tweens ages 11-18 are invited to join us for this class taught by Walter Cloud, CCC, CWPC from Navajo Technical University's Culinary Arts Program! Join us as we learn how to make mac 'n' cheese from scratch!

Escape Room @ Rio West Mall

12-4 PM, located right next to Orange Julius at the entrance to the food court

Join us for a family escape room adventure! Your great grandfather discovered the tomb of the ancient pharaoh Tutankhamun. Now, reading his journals it seems he had a secret...something he never told anyone. He believed that there was another tomb connected to the first. A hidden tomb! Now it's your chance to find it! Families will have to work All Together Now to solve the mystery!


New games will begin every half-hour. We will have a sign up sheet so that you can sign your group up for a time slot and then browse the mall while you are waiting.

Sew Happy!

1 PM at the Main Library

Teens, tweens, and adults ages 12+ are invited to join us to learn sewing basics. Learn how to select, lay out and cut patterns, use a sewing machine, seam finishes, and hand sew to finish. Today, you will learn to sew either a skirt of a pair of shorts.
