MAUNDY THURSDAY FOOTWASHING
At the Last Supper, Jesus not only instructed his disciples to remember his sacrificial death by blessing and sharing bread and wine, thus instituting Holy Communion. He also washed the feet of his followers
and instructed them to do likewise (John 13.1-17). Washing someone else’s feet is a most intimate act of service and, some would say, a very moving act of service.
At the Maundy Thursday service you will be invited to participate in the footwashing ceremony. Anyone wishing to take part can come forward, have their feet washed and then, in turn, wash the feet of the
next person. I encourage you to try this servanthood act of caring for the other.

“Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.” – Mark 9:35

from your bookshelves, making room for new favorites you’ll find at our sale!
All Saints’ will be hosting a used book sale the weekend of April 23 rd , 2022 – more details to come regarding days and hours of operation. However – we need YOUR help! Donations and volunteers will make this event a success; see the signup genius link below.
DONATE: now through April 20, 2022, bring your items to church and place them in the
marked bin in the Narthex.
Please note: All items are being stored and sorted in Pinder Hall. If you plan on bringing
multiple boxes full to donate, please be mindful of the weight of each box. It would be
preferable to bring two smaller boxes or bags to us rather than one large, HEAVY tote. Items that are wet, pest-damaged or otherwise unusable can not be accepted.
We need help with everything from transporting donations from the collection bins in the Narthex, assisting other parishioners in getting their donations to church, sorting donations for sale, staffing the event, and more.

Christian Formation Commission Under
Re-Development
With Holly’s departure from our midst on Palm Sunday, we need our Christian Formation Commission more than ever. We are seeking individuals who are interested in serving on this Commission which has lain dormant for over a decade. Its re- formation is in response to a Vestry request, and its role is multi-faceted as described below:
- To ensure that the needs of our stakeholders are being addressed.
- To support the Clergy and Director of Christian Formation in their Formation roles; especially with regard to Youth Formation Programming (Sunday School, Youth Activities, Mission Experiences, First Communion and Confirmation, Acolyting, etc.)
- One need not be or become a “Sunday School Teacher” or “Youth Leader” to be a viable member of this Commission.
Please contact Caryl at Cell: (757) 839-1813 to discuss your interest. Thank you!
Coffee Hour Has Resumed!
Members of the Parish Life Commission are hosting Coffee hours after the 8:00 and 10:00 services through Easter. After that, they will be yours to host unless there is a special occasion. You may sign up in Baines Hall or via Sign-Up Genius: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0549ACAF2FA3FF2-coffee .
We have alternated weeks on the two means of registering so that there is no duplication of effort. The recipe for coffee, which we are still making in the small pots and transferring to the pump carafes, is posted above the ice maker. Pre-packaged individual servings of food are preferred (commercially prepared or homemade), but are no longer required by the Diocese. We look forward to our post-worship gatherings as a parish family!
YOU Are Wanted and Needed…
Now that we are the closest to “normal” that we have been since early March of 2020, we are in need of some volunteers from the pews in order to rev up our offerings. In accordance with the National Church’s requirements, we need a second person in the nursery every Sunday morning at 8:00, at 9:00, and at
10:00. In order to volunteer, you need training to become Safe Church Compliant and have a copy of your training certificate on file in the church office. All church employees, all Vestry members, and all persons working with children in any capacity are required to be certified. Any other individual, 16 years of age or older, is eligible to become certified. The certification is good for 3 years. To work in the nursery, volunteers need to complete the “Universal” training. Visit this site http://www.diosova.org/article462905.htm to
register for the on-line training modules. When you have completed your training, remember to print your certificate and share it with our Parish Administrator, Kelly Young. Thank you!
