Seanchairde (Old Friends):
a journey through the history of the music of Ireland with Deirdre Morgan, Máiréad Holton, and Kieran Brennan
Sunday, March 10, 3 pm
Join us as Seanchairde takes us on a journey through the history of the music of Ireland highlighting some of the best-known composers and non-composer attributed tunes from the 1600s to present day.
Seanchairde (Old Friends) includes Deirdre Morgan on flute and vocals, Máiréad Holt on fiddle, and Kieran Brennan on banjo, and guitar. Deirdre, Mairead, and Kieran met over fifteen years ago when they were attending the Pearl River School of Irish Music. Through PRSIM they competed in regional and international competitions eventually bringing home a silver medal for ceili band in 2009 along with eight of their peers. They have extensively studied each of their instruments attending workshops in the United States and in Ireland. When they were in high school they were part of a band called Ceol Milis (Sweet Music) which performed around the tri-state area for several years.
Deirdre, Mairead, and Kieran are excited to be performing together again and are thrilled that you are all here for their first concert under the name Seanchairde.
Join us on Sunday, March 10! Suggested donation: $10.
