Mobile Medical Care for your Student!

Have you heard? All Care’s Mobile healthcare program is at Thomas Jefferson High School!

Has your student received their annual well check? Appointments are available! Need a COVID test? Same-day appointments are available! Are you wondering if that scratchy throat means your teen needs to miss school? Same-day appointments are available! Need a sports physical before soccer season? Get that appointment scheduled. No time to run to school, pick up your student, and take them across town to look into a sudden fever? Same-day appointments are available. All Care is making it easier to manage the health of your kids while juggling your job and other daily responsibilities.

Contact your school nurse to make an appointment on the All Care mobile medical unit to stay on top of routine medical and mental health medication management or to simply make your day run smoother when those sudden earaches pop up. Appointments for family members (siblings and parents) and school staff are also available. The All Care mobile medical unit is located at Thomas Jefferson High School, Tuesday through Friday, during school hours.

Send your friends a great career opportunity!

With recent enhancements to our benefits plan, let your friends in the job market know that All Care is hiring! The job market continues to add stress to employers, and according to analysts, there are two basic scenarios possible as we move through 2023: Employers will continue to boost wages to fill open jobs, or the economy will slow under the weight of higher interest rates, reducing the demand for workers. If you know anyone looking for a career change, share that All Care is a secure employer. During the height of the pandemic, no layoffs took place. In times of community stress, the demand for community health is high.

All Care Health Center was recognized as a 2022 UNbelieveable Workplace by the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce. All Care offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including enhanced medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) program with employer match, PTO, ten paid holidays, and more! Share available opportunities with your friends: www.allcarehealthcenter.org/careers/

Meet Our Two New Mental Health Therapists

The community's need is great and All Care continues to expand its mental health department to work to meet the need. Recently, Nathan Howland and Rebecca Folks joined All Care Health Center. Both are accepting new patients! Remember, All Care will take Medicare, Medicaid, and most major insurances. We honor self-pay patients and will never refuse a patient based on their inability to pay.

Nathan Howland LISW; LADC; LIMHP (NE); CMSW, BCD

Nathan began his studies in Omaha at Metropolitan Community College, then the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 2012. Nathan kept growing through his studies at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, where he earned his Master of Social Work in 2013. During this final year of his early studies, Nathan worked as a Care Coordinator for LGBTQ Youth in North Miami, Florida. In this role, he provided clinical case management and individual counseling; developed treatment plans; facilitated education groups; and performed community outreach, education, research, and policy analysis for new program development.

Soon after receiving his MSW, Nathan returned to Omaha as a therapist, providing assessment and psychotherapy to patients in a residential addiction treatment program. In this position, he also developed co-occurring psychoeducation curriculum for the short-term program.

Since 2018, Nathan has worked in a primary care setting for major health systems in Omaha. He has provided behavioral assessment and intervention to children, adolescents, and adult patients in these roles. He has provided strong leadership for operations while developing continuous quality assurance programs, benefitting patient care and fellow therapist practices’ productivity.

Nathan practices many therapies with his clients to meet their individual needs. Some of these therapies include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); Flash Technique (FT), used to reduce the disturbance associated with traumatic or distressing memories without consciously engaging with the traumatic memory; and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which teaches mindfulness skills to help individuals developing psychological flexibility.

Rebecca Folks, LCSW

Rebecca Folks has an unwavering commitment to serving the community through social work. In her role, she possesses the unique ability to connect with people from diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, age groups, and cultures with varying disabilities. In all things, she strives to help clients achieve their potential.

Rebecca earned her Bachelors of Social Work alongside a minor in Criminology/Criminal Justice from Colorado State University. She continued her education at the University of Denver to accomplish her Masters of Social Work.

Rebecca comes to All Care Health Center from Ft. Collins, Colorado, where she grew professionally over the past seven years. Her career started as a childcare worker providing direct care for juveniles of convicted sexual offenses. Here, she encouraged and motivated clients to help them mature and develop their social and problem-solving skills, including their daily routines. Building upon this experience, she spent four years empowering individuals with disabilities to lead lives of their choice, fulfilling roles as an Intake and Waiting List Case Manager, Activity Coordinator, and a GAP Crisis Team member. Most recently, Rebecca worked with seniors in a Crisis Counselor Program as a Senior Care Specialist and Team Lead. In this role, she lessened the mental impacts of COVID-19 by offering ongoing assessment, counseling, emotional support, and crisis intervention to older adults, promoting resilience and coping strategies. She also provided clinical and psychosocial support to patients, families, and caregivers as a Social Worker in a hospice setting.

All Care Accepts New Dental Medicaid Patients

You may have heard that no dental provider in Council Bluffs is accepting new Medicaid patients, but All Care’s dental department does accept both Medicaid and new patients. Please let your clients know they can request an appointment by calling 712-256-9151. We request that new patients use their “patience” as scheduling may be difficult. Once again, the need is great, but we have three dentists doing their best to meet the need of our community.
