SPHERE Opens In Las Vegas
HPN is celebrating the opening of SPHERE, the newest Las Vegas venue that holds 17,600 people in a state-of-the-art AR/VR concert auditorium. Sphere was created by an incredible team, led by our friend and HPN member Ralph Winter. And the opening act for its premiere is U2, led by committed believer and HPN member, Bono. So, let’s celebrate what God is doing through His people in the world of Arts & Entertainment. We need more Christians to be excellent all over the world, including in Las Vegas!

Bono, Jesus, Grace & Religion
We praise God for the decades of both fame and faith of Bono! His legal name is Paul David Hewson. He was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1960, he’s the lead singer for the popular Irish rock band U2 and he’s a prominent human rights activist. He was born to a Roman Catholic father and a Protestant mother, who died when Bono was just 14 years old. Let’s pray for Bono’s life, global impact and his solid walk with Jesus!

The WGA Strike is Over after 148 Days!
The Writers Strike is OVER! After 148 stressful days of picketing and negotiating with the AMPTP, the WGA has agreed to terms and their strike is over. The WGA is now voting on the terms that the leaders of the union and the AMPTP have proposed and agreed on. Their voting goes through Oct. 9th on whether to ratify the deal offered last week. THANK YOU for your prayers. Please read the details of what has been decided and continue to pray for the industry as we start getting back into production!

The SAG/AFTRA Strike Continues...
The SAG strike continues and this past Monday, Oct. 2nd, was the first day that the SAG/AFTRA leaders and the AMPTP actually sat down to talk after 2 ½ months of striking. They believe they could be close, but decided to wait until TODAY to talk again. So, please pray that the top negotiators of both SAG/AFTRA and the AMPTP will come to a fair and mutually beneficial agreement.

TV Streaming services
How fast are streaming services canceling their TV series? Many audience members are getting tired of paying for so many streaming services, and the services are feeling the pinch as people cancel some of the many services they have been paying for. After HBO Max rebranded to Max, they have experienced a 26.9% cancellation rate. Read about the many other streaming services and how many viewers are canceling their services. Then please pray that audiences will PRAY as much as they PAY for these streaming services.

Netflix Is Raising Their Prices
Netflix has announced that they are going to be raising their prices after the SAG/AFTRA strike is over, for their Standard Plan and Premier Tier No-Ad customers. Let’s pray for how much money we need to spend on our media, where to spend it, and ask the Lord what the best use of our time is. There are so many entertainment viewing platforms, services and options that we can get overwhelmed. May we also pray that Christians will choose to spend more time with our spouses, children, family and friends.

Disney+ and Password Sharing
Disney is starting to crack down on their Disney+ streaming service subscribers because they have found that too many people are sharing their paid subscription with family members and friends who should be paying for their own Disney+ subscription. They have found that password sharing has gotten out of control. So, if you are a Disney+ subscriber, you might be tagged for sharing your password. Let’s pray for a balance between too many people sharing one password and too many streaming services demanding monthly subscriptions. We need wisdom from both the viewers and the heads of the streaming services to know how to navigate these confusing, expensive and sometimes overwhelming streaming service options.

Spotify is Offering Free Audio Books
Spotify is offering 15 hours per month of free audio book streaming for their Premium customers. They are launching this offer in Australia, then Canada and it will eventually reach the United States. Let’s pray for the music and podcast streaming services; that they will be affordable to listeners all over the worl. We also need to know what TV streaming services, podcast Apps, audio books, and on-line magazines and newspapers to subscribe to. May we not get frustrated but seek wisdom from the God of the universe!

We focused on TV and music/audio books streaming services because we want Christians to be knowledgeable and actively involved in our family’s viewing and listening choices. NEW PODCAST EPISODE: WATCH FULL EPISODE HERE!
Our special guest on the Changemakers Podcast this week is our Local Chapter Director all the way from DUBLIN, IRELAND. Jenny Belle is here to share her experience in promoting films all across Ireland. From the recent release of Jesus Revolution and the record-breaking release of Sound of Freedom, Europe has been responding boldly to the messages of these films. Jenny shares her experience promoting these movies and encourages us to pray for Hollywood because God is moving.

Filled with humor, rousing debate, and reconciliation, the two men learn the true value of their friendship with a little help from a few pints of beer and the energetically curious barmaid, Veronica.

Operation Christmas Child Paid Positions
We are currently looking to hire approximately 200 Christian men and women to fill paid positions for a four-week project with Operation Christmas Child! We love partnering with like-minded churches and organizations who are passionate about spreading the gospel and working in our processing centers. Our seasonal positions include a wide variety of customer service and warehouse roles (including team coaches, greeters, heavy lifters, Class-A CDL drivers, and forklift operators). The ideal candidate for this position has a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, aligns with the mission of Samaritan’s Purse, works well with volunteers, and is flexible and able to function well in a fast-paced environment. "Funny People Cry Too"
October 29th at 7pm
Funny People Cry Too is a live storytelling show + live music (that happens once a year) where naturally funny people tell true stories around the topic of mental health to help end mental health stigmas. Every person in this show is an established writer, comedian, or actor and the show tends to attract a lot of movers and shakers in the industry due to the content of the show.
The show (is once a year) and takes place on the last Sunday of the month, October 29th at 7pm at The Santa Monica PlayHouse to conclude national mental health month. A portion of every ticket sold goes back to The National Alliance of Mental Illness too! It's a beautiful night of healing, for a good cause!

Service of Song is a Community Group of Hollywood Prayer Network that hosts quarterly gatherings for worship leaders and worship ministers serving on worship teams across LA! These are not worship nights of pouring out, but fellowship nights of being filled up! We focus on gathering our diverse LA worship community of leaders, addressing needs, sharing prayer requests, breaking bread together, and making new friendships. We want to help worshipers strengthen one another!
