Resiliency Residency Round Two Application is Now Open!

The 2024 UETF Resiliency Residency is now accepting applications from Greater Albuquerque area based artists for self-paced "at-home" residencies.

The UETF Resiliency Residency Program encourages artists of all mediums and disciplines to play, experiment, research, and create. Projects are encouraged, but not required, to be completed at the end of the Residency period, and artists are invited to use the funds as part of a larger grant, as leverage to get more funding, as intermediary funding between larger project phases, or as they see fit to further their artistic practice.

The 2024 Resiliency Residency will include two new nonprofit organizations acting as Fiscal Sponsors: Working Classroom and Katharsis Media. You can learn more about them HERE.

Twenty artists, working in the Greater Albuquerque area, will be awarded $5,000 each. Artists who received a 2022 Residency are eligible for this next round of funding.

The second iteration of the UETF Resiliency Residency Program will focus on building the Residency community more deeply with studio visits and regular face-to-face check-ins. The RR II will emphasize connecting smaller groups for potential collaborations, stirred conversation, and cross-disciplinary exposure. The 2024 cycle will also include Roundtables and Workshops from experts in the arts and arts administration fields to encourage connection and conversation between the awarded artists and other members of the Albuquerque arts community.

Deadline: Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.

SBCC Exhibition

Nortesur / Luis Fitch

Nortesur takes its name from the Spanish words for "north" and "south," representing the bidirectional influence flow between two countries divided by an ever-shifting border. International Artist and Graphic Designer, Luis Fitch explores the spaces in between, where identities remain in flux, shaped by cross-border migration, economic integration, and shared environmental challenges.

The exhibit also highlights an exhibition of fine art prints designed and created at the Tamarind Institute, featuring works by Fitch as well as local artists Dora Chavarria, Julianna Kirwin, and Lena Kassicieh. The exhibit is on view through October 14 and is free to the public.
