PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
NC CAP WANTS TO HIGHLIGHT YOUR PROGRAM!
This month NC CAP would like to take a moment to highlight an amazing program in our network: Her Spark

Her Spark is a STEM-focused nonprofit founded by professional women and business leaders, and its goal is to ignite the STEM journey of bright young women while diversifying the STEM talent pipeline.

The organization's mission is to equip girls ages 13-18 with the skills and opportunities to succeed in the STEM careers of tomorrow, and Her Spark is dedicated to solving gender disparity in computer science, engineering and technology careers.

Her Spark invites high school girls to learn practical STEM-based skills in preparation for STEM
classes and careers, while introducing them to the latest technologies such as cryptocurrency,
robotics, and artificial intelligence.

Through Her Spark events, girls also learn about leadership, team building, project management, resume writing, presentation skills, public speaking and social media responsibility.

Feedback from Her Spark program participants indicates that girls:
• Enjoy being with other like-minded girls who want to pursue STEM classes and careers
• Feel more confident about STEM
• Appreciate interacting and learning from volunteers
• Enjoy learning from the panel discussions with STEM interns, college students and
professionals

Early registration is now open for Her Spark’s 2023 summer camp that will take place
July 17-21, 2023.
