It is Accomplished!
Some of you have seen this announcement on Facebook, but it bears repeating here.
My dissertation --
Toxic Theology as a Contributing Factor in Complicated Grief -- has been accepted, and I am now officially Dr. Daniel!
My degree is a Doctor of Ministry
(DMin) with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling. If you're in the area (San Anselmo, CA) on May 25, come to my graduation!
Next step... find an adjunct (or visiting faculty) job somewhere (I'll travel for the right gig). I'd like to teach death, dying and bereavement to nursing and medical school students, and can also create a curriculum for gerontology, sociology, psychology and religious studies. Let me know if you have any leads.
You can find my academic credentials
HERE.
And don't forget, the 2019

by Psychic Medium James Van Praagh

Near-Death Experiences Across Cultures
We are huge fans of Dr. Gregory Shushan. His research on near-death experiences that have been documented throughout history and across cultures is extraordinary. Here's a video from his 2016 IANDS talk.

Talking to Children About Death
by
Caroline Bologna - from Huffpost.com
CAVAN IMAGES VIA GETTY IMAGES
"When a young child loses a loved one, parents often grapple with the challenge of explaining the concept of death and helping their little one through the grieving process (all while grieving themselves).
To help inform these difficult conversations, HuffPost spoke to a number of child mental health experts. Of course, a family's cultural and religious background may steer the discussion, but there are certain guiding principles that are helpful for everyone to keep in mind.
Here are some expert suggestions for parents and caregivers when they prepare to talk about death and grief with children."
