Perspectives on Life Outside the Body
I have recently become aware of two researchers who are making important strides in investigating the world beyond the physical. I'm very excited to introduce their work to you, and have invited both of them to present at next year's Afterlife Conference.
While listening to a great segment on NPR's Radio Lab last week (highly recommended), I was was amazed by the interview with Dr. Roland Griffiths. He studies the use of
Psylocybin as a healing tool to address a
variety of psychological issues including the fear of death. He is also conducting the NDE research described in the article below.
On the subject of out-of-body exploration, next month we'll feature a video by one of our favorite OBE experts, William Buhlman, who will also be joining us at the 2018 conference.
We've got a lot of great content for you this month. Happy journeying!

Physician-Assisted Death in Canada
In Canada, unlike in the U.S., the physician him/herself must administer the drugs to help suffering persons end their physical lives. It presents a staggering conundrum for the small number of Canadian doctors who have registered
to perform assisted deaths. We strongly urge you to read THIS ARTICLE in its entirety. It's fascinating.

Two Powerful New Workshops
Coming to Northern California
I am very excited to announce two new workshops that will be of interest to those who want to learn more about spiritual practices for death, dying, grieving and communicating with the other side.
The first is a day-long workshop called Conscious Dying: An Experiential Encounter with the Soul Through Death and Beyond. It will be held in Santa Rosa, CA on Nov. 11, 2017. Click HERE for details and registration.
The second is a full weekend workshop May 4-6, 2018 at the beautiful Earthrise Retreat Center in Petaluma, CA. The event is called Grieving Between Heaven and Earth: A Mystical Journey to Healing
, and it will be facilitated jointly by Terri Daniel and Austyn Wells. We're still in the early planning stages, and will keep you informed of details as they are confirmed.

A Day in the Life of a Funeral Director
In last month's issue we highlighted funeral director Caleb Wilde, who grew up in his family's funeral business and has become a celebrity via his book and his blog. This month we'll look at the day-to-day tasks of a funeral director from the perspective of funeral director and embalmer Sarah Bick, who shares a behind-the-scenes look at her job:
"
I never knew anybody in this business. You would see it on TV and commercials and movies and you're always wondering what is it. I was more attracted by the dead bodies. I want to see what nobody sees. It's one of those things that's shrouded in secrecy."
