The Grand Opening of Vitalia | |

This spring we celebrated the Grand Opening of Vitalia alongside San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, Santa Clara County Board President Supervisor Susan Ellenberg, Santa Clara County Supervisor Sylvia Arenas and City of San Jose Councilmember Pam Foley.
Located in San Jose, Vitalia offers 79 new affordable and supportive apartment homes for low-income and formerly unhoused individuals and families, with 2 apartments reserved for on-site management. Half of the apartments are reserved for formerly unhoused individuals, including veterans, with the remaining apartments designated for households earning up to 60% of the area median income. On-site supportive services are provided by Community Solutions.

The Grand Opening of ShoreLINE | |

Recently with MTS, we celebrated the Grand Opening of ShoreLINE, our new affordable, transit-oriented development located in San Diego at the Grantville Transit Center! ShoreLINE provides 126 affordable apartment homes, with 2 apartments reserved for on-site management. In addition to housing, ShoreLINE features a range on on-site amenities including a community room with gathering space and shared kitchen, a computer lab, and an expansive 5,800-square-foot courtyard with built-in seating, a tot lot play area and a barbecue station.
Dignitaries in attendance included San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, San Diego City Councilmember Stephen Whitburn and San Diego City Councilmember Raul Campillo.

Vitalia - San Jose, CA
Last week at the 2024 Gold Nugget Awards, Vitalia was awarded a prestigious Grand Award for Best Health/Wellness Design Solution!
Vitalia is a new affordable and supportive housing development with 79 apartment homes for low-income and formerly unhoused individuals and families in San Jose.

Hosting the Next Gen Talent Academy | |
This year, Affirmed sponsored Housing Partnership Network’s Next Gen Talent Academy powered by Project Destined. Next Gen Talent Academy aims to recruit and grow the next generation of BIPOC affordable housing professionals and leaders. As part of our sponsorship, we had the pleasure of hosting university students for tours at two of our affordable housing developments in the City of San Marcos, Alora and Estrella. Eager students visited our newly completed community Alora, then toured Estrella, which is currently wrapping up construction across the street. As the students’ majors range from Real Estate to Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Data Science, the Affirmed team shared insight into the different departments and opportunities available in affordable housing development. We look forward to continuing to add diverse talent to our Affirmed team in the coming years! | |

Affirmed and the San Diego Unified School District are proud to deliver the district’s first ever affordable housing project! The new development will transform the former campus of Central Elementary in City Heights into a thriving community hub with 327 new affordable homes for our essential teachers, school workers and students – the backbone of society. We’re honored to work alongside the District to create a beautiful space that all San Diegans will be able to enjoy. Meet the newest members of the Affirmed team! | |

Jaime joined the team in April as Supportive Housing Director and is based in our San Diego office. Jaime has over 10 years of experience in supportive housing and supportive services. She earned her Master of Public Health degree from San Diego State University and her B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University.

Tea joined Affirmed as Assistant Project Manager and is based in our San Jose office. Tea previously worked for a nonprofit affordable housing developer based in San Francisco. She recently graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Master's of Public Administration. In her free time, Tea enjoys cooking and exploring the Bay Area food scene. | |
Jeremy works in our San Diego office and joined the team as Assistant Project Accountant. Jeremy has previous work experience as a Staff Accountant and Purchasing Assistant. He graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Business Administration, Finance. In his free time, Jeremy like to play beach volleyball and basketball, have game nights and go hiking. | |
Milly joined Affirmed as Administrative Assistant and is based in our San Diego office. Milly previously worked in the healthcare industry as a Credentialing and Compliance Specialist. She graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. In her free time, Milly likes trying new recipes, hiking and spending time with her family. | |
Kassidy is based in our San Diego office and joined the team as Assistant Project Accountant. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in Accounting. Kassidy previously worked for a property management company and financial consultant providing outsourced accounting services to real estate developers. In her free time, she enjoys taking boxing classes, going to farmers markets and attending concerts. | |
Lateef joined the Affirmed team as a summer Development Intern in our San Diego office. Lateef is a rising junior at Pomona College and is studying Economics. He is a huge baseball fan and is currently playing outfield for the Pomona-Pitzer Varsity baseball team! He also enjoys camping, hiking and surfing. After graduating, Lateef is interested in pursuing a career in real estate, law or finance. | |
