Advocating for FL FM in Washington, DC!

A delegation of FAFP leaders, residents, and students participated in the AAFP Family Medicine Advocacy Summit on Tuesday, May 21, which included visiting with nearly a dozen U.S. Representatives and two state Senators. Topics advocated included support for the REDI Act for medical student loan interest deferment, including preventive health services in high deductible health plans via the Primary and Virtual Care Affordability Act, and including all ACIP recommended vaccines in Medicare Part B coverage. Our thanks to those who spent the day meeting with members of Congress and staff to promote these important issues and serve as resources to promote family medicine in Florida!  FAFP Delegation included: Dr. George Bernardo, Dr. Michele Bohlmann, Dr. Christina Cavanagh, Dr. Michael Cromer, Dr. John Gross, and Dr. Michael Swartzon; residents Dr. Claudett Barreto, Dr. Kara Lanpher, and Dr. Kelsey Warren; medical students Leanne Dumeny, Shannon Gallup, and Rosalie Mattiola.

Celebrating World Family Doctor Day!

Happy World Family Doctor Day to our FAFP members, and thank you for all you do to keep patients healthy in Florida!

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
