Messaging Review: Donation Terms We Don't Use & Why

Words are powerful. How certain words or terms are used can have a significant impact, especially when it comes to organ, eye and tissue donation. Language not only plays an important role in perpetuating or debunking commons myths and misconceptions about organ, eye and tissue donation, it can also serve as a way to pay respect to those who have given the gift of life and their loved ones. Avoiding certain terms and phrases can both reduce concern among donor families and help increase public understanding and acceptance of the donation process. Summer Safety Reminder

It's officially summer! With the warm weather, we have just a couple of safety reminders for you to keep top of mind, not just while you're volunteering, but for the summer season.

Make sure to bring sunscreen and reapply every 90 minutes.
Bring a water bottle and a hat if you'll be outside.
If lightning is moving in while you're at an event get yourself to safety (inside a building or your vehicle).

July Monthly Advocate Call

We are very excited to be joined by Cheryl Talley, Director of PR/Communications. Cheryl's going to share some exciting events for 2024 and a peak at the fun planned for 2025. Donor Alliance Advocates for Life are the heart and soul of our efforts to inspire and inform our community about the importance of signing up to be an organ, eye and tissue donor in Colorado and Wyoming. Each of our Advocates has their own unique and inspiring story to tell. In this month's Advocate Spotlight, meet Jaime Tellez, a cornea recipient from Aurora, CO. Jaime has been an Advocate for Life for over 8 years!

Event Support: Bib Labeling

We are looking for 5 additional Advocates to help adhere sticker assignments to race bibs in preparation for the 25th Anniversary Donor Dash from 10:00am-2:00pm. All volunteers will receive a free race registration. Lunch will be provided. To sign up, click here.

Donor Alliance is very excited to host a table at an upcoming Rockies game! We are looking for 2 Advocates to educate and inspire Rockies fans to join the donor registry. Additional details will come in the coming weeks, but the tentative time commitment is 5:00pm-8:00pm. To sign up, click here.

DDS: Take Jake Car & Bike Show

We are looking for 3 Advocates to help support this incredible event bringing awareness to organ, eye and tissue donation. Take Jake is a non-profit charitable organization designed to promote and educate the community on the importance of organ and tissue donation and is founded by a fellow Donor Mom and Advocate for Life.
