Sermon Series: Plot Twist

We’ve seen them in movies and read them in stories; plot twists are literary techniques that introduce a radical change in the direction or expected outcome of a plot. In the Book of Acts, one of the most significant plot twists in the history of God’s people is about to take place, but this one should point us back to the greatest plot twist when God came to earth and defeated sin and death. Join us as we follow the path the Spirit leads us on, to the very ends of the earth.

Scene 1: Introduction

Sunday, June 9th

Plot twists occur on every page of the Bible. We should almost expect the unexpected, but nevertheless, when God works in His mysterious ways, it always shocks us, surprises us, draws us into awe, wonder, and, ultimately, worship. This week we will look at the significant plot twists in the Scripture and in our own lives as we prepare for the upcoming one in Acts chapter 10.

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday.

Adventure:Kids News

This Sunday in Adventure:Kids, the kids will read from Acts 1 and learn how the disciples chose Matthias to replace Judas and called him to be a witness to Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

Key Passage: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." - Galatians 5:22-23

We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version.

Adventure:Kids Needs Teachers!

Adventure:Kids is seeking both regular teachers and substitutes to join our team. If you're interested in serving, we want to hear from you!

Youth Summer Camp Registration

August 11th-14th at Black Diamond Camp

Our yearly trip to summer camp is a great time of team building and connecting for our teens and leaders in Adventure Youth. When we strip away technology, and take kids out of their regular context, it makes for an awesome opportunity to connect with God and one another.

Cost: $318/person. We are hosting multiple fundraisers in an effort to lower the cost of camp for every teen, so you can expect to see that number shrink!

In order to attend, the following must be completed:

1. Completion of the Adventure Youth Summer Camp registration form

2. Completion of Black Diamond Camp registration form (will be emailed to you upon completion of step 1)

Youth Summer Camp Fundraising!

As Youth Summer Camp approaches we are looking to help cover the cost of camp, so that every youth that wants to go to camp can, and we can cover the cost for our leaders! The remaining balance we have currently is $7,020, and so far we've raised $305. If you want to help support our youth in this awesome opportunity, check out the pallet wall on Sunday, choose your adventure by grabbing an envelope of the donation amount of your choosing and follow the instructions provided. Any amount helps, and all funds raised will help reduce the cost of camp for each camper. Thanks for loving on our Adventure:Youth in this way!

Adventure Finances - A New Way of Giving!

Now there’s a new way to financially support Adventure of Faith Church. In addition to supporting Adventure with your cash, check or online giving, there is now an option to donate stock (or other investments) to our investment account. These can provide donors (you) with a double tax benefit. First, you’ll be able to claim a charitable contribution deduction in the amount of the current market value of the donated stock. Second, you’ll avoid paying taxes on the appreciated value of the donated stock. This also gives our church some options for how we can be good stewards of our church financial growth, in order to continue doing what God is calling us to do. If you’re interested in setting this up or finding out more information, please contact our Financial Administrator, Leslie.

put them on your radar and know more details are coming!

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!

He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!

Sometimes serving the church looks like quiet, behind-the-scenes work. Two of our kids at Adventure heard about a need for some new blankets in the nursery, and with the help of their grandma made these beautiful blankets! This blessing reminded me that God provides, and that our kids are an active and important part of the church body.

God is Good!

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.

To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:

What Good have you witnessed recently?

What Good has God brought into your life?

What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?

God is Good!!
