Testificari Sermon Series
When Peter comes to visit with Cornelius, he finally sees why he had seen the vision he had and he understood what it was referring to. His heart and mind are opened and he sees that Christ’s death and resurrection has extended beyond the Jews to the entire world. In this third sermon of Peter, he again bears witness to Jesus Christ, this time to a houseful of Gentiles. During this series we will be dig into Peter’s proclamation of the Gospel, both to receive it and to follow it as an example for when we are similarly called to speak about what we’ve seen and heard.
Sunday, August 18th: What Happened to Jesus
Jesus was God wrapped in flesh and He lived His life perfectly in reverence to God- loving God and loving others, but the world did not receive Him. The response of the world was that they rebelled, again, against Him and put Him to death on a cross. Following in His footsteps, the world will rebel against us as well, we will face trials and persecution. How are we to respond to this? Join us this week as we look further into Peter’s sharing of the Gospel with Cornelius in Acts chapter 10.

Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and coordinating Life Group Curriculum are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. You can find those resources (for this week and ALL previous weeks) HERE or at the Welcome Center on Sunday. | |

Adventure:Kids News
This week in Adventure:Kids, our journey learning about Peter's ministry continues! The kids will dive into Acts 4, where Peter, after healing a man, boldly preached about Jesus - no matter the obstacles. The gospel is great news and if we believe in Jesus, we're called to share it too!
Key Passage: How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? - Romans 10:14
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!
Sermon notes and challenges for families are available on the Adventure:Kids Facebook page, OR click here for a pdf version.

SAVE THE DATE: Connection Sunday
Sunday, September 8th
Save the Date for this year's Connection Sunday! Every year before we start in the fall, we take time together as our Adventure family to equip people in connecting well to our church body as a whole, to our various ministries, and to each other as individuals. This year it will be held on September 8th after church and it will look a little different than years past. We’ll have a provided lunch in the Friendship Center which allows space for fellowship, individual connection, and breaking bread together, followed by some intentional activities that foster connection. Our hope is that this shift will allow more accessibility for all to experience connection and learn about different ways to connect at Adventure! Please mark your calendars and come be a part of what we are doing!

SAVE THE DATE: Adventure: Equip Fall Session
New Classes begin Sunday, September 15th, 9:00-9:45am
Adventure: Equip is how we seek to dig in further to learning and practicing what we believe. These classes aim to prioritize understanding the Word, our theological beliefs, and spiritual practices. Our aim is not just to understand more, but study together and practice alongside one another so that our lives can be transformed. From those just beginning their adventure with Jesus to those that have traveled far with Him, there is a place for you here as we seek to be more like Jesus and become a stronger Biblical community.
There are five classes in total coming for our Fall Launch, a kids class and four classes for adults and teens. In the following weeks we will expand on what those are so you can decide where to jump in!

Our God is Good reflection this week is from Sam:
WE HAVE FIBER INTERNET!! Yes, that deserved all caps. This is something that we've been longing for with all of the internet issues we've had in the past few years, especially with our service livestream. Now we certainly don't expect this to be a save-all for every livestream issue in the future, technology will always throw us a few curveballs. And while we don't put our hope in these physical things, we are excited for the opportunities this presents us to be able to provide a more consistent online experience for Sunday Worship for those that chose to join us from home. Also allowing us to shift our focus to other things that we can work to improve now that we aren't having to constantly chase down internet issues. In the few weeks it has been up and running, we've had zero issues and our viewers from home have noticed the difference. It can seem like such a small thing, but sometimes these little frustrations add up and we are thankful that we are able to help break down this barrier. Praise God for allowing us to do so!
God is Good!

This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur your thoughts to God's goodness start by asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
