Lego Cup Challenge

Enjoy time constructing and learning more about STEAM with our Lego Cup Challenge on Saturday, June 1 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm! Families will get a cup of Legos and an item or structure to build using as many Legos as possible. Learn more.

Adventure Skills

Similar to the Kinderskills program, our Adventure Skills have activities designed to develop fine and gross motor skills. On Thursday, May 30 at 2:00 pm, we'll start with a picture book and complete activities. Learn more.

Lego Block Party

Race against time to build your best Lego creation on Saturday, June 1 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Walbridge Library! Families with kids of all ages are welcome to join us for our Lego Block Party to build something new. Learn more.

WCDPL (both locations) will be closed Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.

Adventure Begins this Week at the Library

Readers of all ages can come together this summer as the Wood County District Public Library presents the Summer Reading Program for 2024, "Adventure Begins at Your Library!”


The 2024 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, storytimes, and more. Registration for Adventure Begins at Your Library begins May 29.


Kick off your summer reading with a day full of adventure at the library! Each location will have its own kick-off where you can get signed up for summer reading, grab your registration prizes, and join us for fun events throughout the day.

Bowling Green Kick-Off Celebration

Wednesday, May 29 | 10:30 am-4:00 pm

At 10:30 am in the Atrium, Beverly, The Music Lady, will present a family sing-along. Enjoy classic children's songs and movement songs in this sing-along concert for all ages!

From 2:00 to 4:00 pm, participate in an outdoor Adventure Obstacle Course and enjoy a Dirt Dessert Treasure Hunt in The Children's Place.

Walbridge Kick-Off Celebration

Wednesday, May 29 | 2:00-4:00 pm

At 2:00 pm, Beverly, The Music Lady, will present a family sing-along. Enjoy classic children's songs and movement songs in this special sing-along concert for all ages! After her program, we'll enjoy a dirt dessert snack from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

Bookmobile Adventures Begin May 29

This year, you can visit the Bookmobile to grab a Bookmobile Passport to track your reading this summer. For each book read, you'll get your Passport stamped and get a ticket to submit for a chance to win great prizes. You can complete our Bookmobile Passport while participating in summer reading at the Bowling Green or Walbridge locations, too!

Help us celebrate Woodlink and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Wood County with an Ice Cream Social! Join us on Wednesday, June 5 at 3:30 pm in the Bowling Green Library Atrium for a celebration with author and illustrator Heidi Woodward Sheffield, creator of the 2024 Imagination Library selection Ice Cream Face and other beloved children’s books.
