U.S. Province Office of Apostolic Mission & Charism

Recently, pastors and principals from all eight of the Province parishes with parochial schools gathered at the University of Notre Dame for a three-day retreat. The weekend started with an opening Mass celebrated by Provincial Superior Rev. William Lies, C.S.C. Throughout the event, visitors heard presentations, attended workshops, and participated in panel discussions with the goal of helping lay leaders get a deeper meaning and understanding of the Holy Cross charisms. Afterward, attendees were invited to share what they learned with their school communities, inspiring others to know and embrace a shared mission as educators of faith.

Happenings in Vocations

Undergraduate men participated in a Backpacking Pilgrimage in October. They joined several Holy Cross priests, brothers, and seminarians on a week-long trek through the Adirondack High Peaks Wilderness. The journey culminated with a visit to St. Joseph's Oratory, the oratory founded by St. André Bessette, C.S.C., in Montréal, Canada. Travelers enjoyed moments of contemplation, reflection, discernment, and fraternity.

Holy Cross Vocations will be at the National Catholic Youth Conference, a three-day conference directed at Catholic high schoolers growing in relationship with Christ. The event takes place November 16-18 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
