St Mark's Seeking a New Campus Ministry Intern

Pay: $20/hr

Hours: An average of 15/month

Days: Sundays 10:30-1 and 1-2 hours during the week.

Timeframe: Aug 1 - Apr 30

Budget: $500/Semester

St Mark’s seeks a TXST student to serve as a College Ministry Intern to coordinate and participate in Sunday morning worship, to discern and address the spiritual needs of TXST students (with the help of clergy and ministry partners) through regular gatherings, and to plan and execute a monthly gathering for TXST students (with the help of the College Ministry Committee and ministry partners). Intern will serve on the St Mark’s Campus Ministry Committee with both voice and vote, and have the opportunity to meet with clergy mentors for developing church vocational skills. Intern will manage a budget to help with pastoral relationships (buying coffee or meals), and event execution. Finally, the intern will work to establish an official Episcopal Student Organization at TXST.

All interns must complete the Diocese of West Texas Safeguarding God’s People curriculum. Confirmed/Received members of The Episcopal Church preferred, but applicants willing to undergo the confirmation/reception process will be considered. A deep and abiding love for the Holy Trinity, College Ministry, and church work preferred and necessary.

Interested parties should submit a resume and three references to christian@stmarkssanmarcos.org by Jul 21.

Join Former Sr Warden, Carolyn Dobbs, as she walks us through the basics of church leadership addressing everything from prayers and conflict management to membership recruiting and Google Docs. This one-day intensive is highly encouraged for all current church leaders, and heartily open to anyone who has an interest in leading in the church. Please RSVP to office@stmarkssanmarcos.org so we can order enough food and drinks.

St. Mark’s is offering a truly unique VBS that aligns with our St. Mark’s Episcopal identity.

We will create, grow, and sing together all the while learning about how God calls us to be caregivers of the earth and especially how we can be good stewards of our local river ecosystem. We’ll even prepare our own meals using local and sustainable ingredients!!

Adult VBS programming will be offered in The Parish Hall Monday and Tuesday evening and then we will all head to the river on Wednesday evening for baptisms and dinner together.

Notes from your Music Director

While the choirs are enjoying their hiatus, I hope you are all enjoying the singer/songwriter series. Just a reminder, the choir will be back in the loft on August 4th at the 11 am service. Regular Wednesday rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, August 21st. This is a great time to find your way to the choir loft and meet the choir and see how it fits. We welcome all willing singers. The Hand Bell choir will begin rehearsals after Labor Day.

Looking forward to being back at the podium.

The Diaper Pantry always needs your help!

Diapers are an essential item for families and one that is not provided or covered by government assistance programs like SNAP or WIC. For the last 4 years, this ministry has grown into a community staple and support network for 300+ families in our community. Please help us continue this vital ministry by donating to our fund using the link below, or bringing in a box of diapers to add to the pantry. Thanks so much for supporting the littlest members of the St. Mark's Community!
