Learning and Discovery Spotlights

JK Students Plant Garden

JK students have planted their garden and can't wait to make a great, big salad with their crop! Students planted a mix of seeds and seedlings and enjoyed learning from one of their class parents, a green thumb and gardening enthusiast, who assisted with the activity.

2nd Grade STEM Creativity

Second grade brought their imaginations to life through STEM projects inspired by their unit on fairy tales and tall tales! All of the projects tied to characters or elements from stories covered in class and displayed fabulous creativity.

5th Grade Narrative Writing

In fifth grade's narrative writing unit, students got their writing ideas flowing by first showing a highlight from their summer through creative dioramas! After giving their classmates a sneak preview of their summer highlight, students went on to write descriptive narratives.

Walking through NC History at Fort Dobbs

Elevating understanding through connections in the field: Students in the Upper School's American History class are studying the French and Indian War and explored Fort Dobbs to better understand the equipment, strategy, and living conditions during the conflict. Interesting fact: Fort Dobbs is the only NC historic site from this war, a conflict that lasted almost a decade and set the stage for independence.
