Students and teachers at SA were all in for a momentous learning opportunity in this week's Solar Eclipse 2024! From science projects, to artwork, to hands-on activities (like the kindergarten 'moon rocks' pictured above, at left), the eclipse brought with it discovery and fun for our school community.

Admission News and Notes: April 2024

Director of Admission Allison Doby (pictured at right) enjoyed the eclipse as well!

One of two Rowan County high school teams and 34 total high school teams from a 12-county area to compete, SA Upper School's Envirothon team brought their environmental knowledge and passion to Dan Nicholas Park for the 2024 Southern Piedmont Envirothon. Topics that students were tested on ranged from identifying trees, pelts, and animal skulls, to clue finding in the forest, to solving environmental issues and soil testing.

3K Teddybear Picnic

SA's 3K class has been learning about bears and hibernation in their study of the cycles of nature. With spring having arrived, the bears have come out of hibernation, just in time for the 3K Teddy Bear Picnic! At the picnic, guests and students enjoyed teddy bear-themed snacks and outdoor time on a beautiful spring day.

Third Grade Adventures to Old Salem

Salisbury Academy's on-the-go learning through field trips not only provides opportunities for deep learning connections outside the classroom, but the field trips also give students the opportunity to learn what it means to represent their school in the outside world. Third grade students recently had a magical day at the Old Salem Museums & Gardens and were complimented by museum staff throughout the day on their manners, curiosity, and enthusiasm!
