Metro - On The Move Riders Program
| |
On the Move Riders Program (OTMRP) works to empower older adults with the information and confidence to travel on fixed-route transportation, by providing one-on-one and/or group travel training, informational transit tours, and safety education presentations. Through our regional Older Adult Transportation Pop-Up events, Transportation Expo, and Raised on Records Concert we strive to spread the word on our program and the value in learning how to travel on public transportation. Through these efforts, OTMRP strives to remove barriers and enhance mobility among the older adult population.
To learn more about our program or to get connected with one of our peer-to-peer travel training clubs, contact Lilly Ortiz at 213.922.2299 or email at onthemove@metro.net.

Urban Forestry's New Tree Planting
| |
Did you know that you can request a tree to be planted in the parkway of your home at no cost to you? Yes, you can! It’s as easy as submitting a request on the City’s website. Click here to submit the FORM. If you do not have a tree in your parkway or if you live on a corner lot and have only have one tree the City encourages you to request a tree to be planted for free! Once a request has been submitted the City’s Urban Forestry team will assess your property for a new or an additional tree. If the Urban Forestry team finds that a new or additional tree can be planted in the parkway, one of three tree options will be selected from the City’s Master Tree List and planted in your parkway for free! It is the City’s goal to continue to build our urban forest, engage community pride, and beautify neighborhoods. Want to learn more? Contact Jennifer Venters, Parks and Recreation Secretary by calling (626) 579-0461 or by email jventers@templecity.us.
