Things You Should Know About
Dear Reader,

My desk is full of invitations and documents that I am sharing with you in this newsletter.

There are many worthwhile events in the Long Beach which I encourage you to attend. I try to go to as many as I can.

If you hear of an event that I should know about or that you would like me to share with other readers, please let me know.

I also have a number of documents that I think you will find interesting. Much of what the council receives never gets to the public. So I am passing along a group I received this past week.

You might also want to check out my blog at
for additional updates and discussion.

Always feel free to contact me via email at district5@longbeach.gov or telephone: 562 570 6932.

I look forward to hearing from you...

Gerrie Schipske

PS Also thought I would include some of the projects I am working on that you might not read about in the local media.

Working on an El Dorado Dog Park
My staff and I have been working closely with the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department to find suitable park area to establish a much needed dog park on the east side. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of a newly formed non profit -- Friends of the El Dorado Dog Park -- click here for their website -- support is growing.

The group is hosting a fundraiser at the 5th District Good Neighbor Park on December 3 at 9 am until 2 pm. Please support this great effort.
